SKNFA Premier League
The SKNFA Premier League, known for sponsorship reasons as the SKNFA National Bank Premier League (previously SKNFA Digicel Super League), is the Saint Kitts top division, created in 1932 and organized by the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association. It currently has 10 participating clubs and the season lasts from September to May. At the Regular Stage, each club plays the others twice (home and away) and the top four teams qualify to Super Four stage. The qualified teams play each other once and the top two teams from Super Four play a 3-legged Championship Play-off to determine the season champion. The lowest placed team in Regular Stage is relegated to Saint Kitts and Nevis Division 1, from which another one is promoted. Despite being a league competition in CONCACAF none of the Saint Kitts and Nevis teams played in the recent years in the CFU Club Championship nor CONCACAF Champions' Cup, CONCACAF Champions' Cup/CONCACAF Champions League. Newtown United FC
Newtown United Football Club is a Saint Kitts and Nevis professional football club from East Basseterre. They currently play in the Saint Kitts and Nevis Premier Division. History Newtown United FC were originally called ''Zip Side Football Team'' and was formed with Leroy Ponteen and Earl Clarke among the first teams to participate in the Third (3rd) Division. Zip Side secured its first win in its first game and won the Third Division to get promoted to the Second (2nd) Division under that name in 1973 before changing to their current name. The team's name was changed to Newtown United to encourage wider community supporters and a more representative team. They were then relegated back to the Third Division but regained their Second Division place and were promoted to the top level in 1975 after beating Superstars 2–1 in a playoff. The 2017–18 N1 League was the tenth season of the N1 League, the top division of football in Nevis, one of the two islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis, and the second year the competition was branded as ''N1 League''.
