2017–18 Hertha BSC Season
The 2017–18 Hertha BSC season was the 126th season in the football club's history and 5th consecutive and 35th overall season in the top flight of German football, the Bundesliga, having been promoted from the 2. Bundesliga in 2013. In addition to the domestic league, Hertha BSC also participated in this season's editions of the domestic cup, the DFB-Pokal, and the second-tier continental cup, the UEFA Europa League. This was the 50th season for Hertha in the Olympiastadion Berlin, located in Berlin, Germany. The season covered a period from 1 July 2017 to 30 June 2018. Hertha BSC
Hertha, Berliner Sport-Club e. V., commonly known as Hertha BSC (), and sometimes referred to as Hertha Berlin, Hertha BSC Berlin, or simply Hertha, is a German professional football club based in the locality of Westend of the borough of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf of Berlin. Hertha BSC plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of German football. Hertha BSC was founded in 1892, and was a founding member of the German Football Association in Leipzig in 1900. Bundesliga
The Bundesliga (; ), sometimes referred to as the Fußball-Bundesliga () or 1. Bundesliga (), is a professional association football league in Germany. At the top of the German football league system, the Bundesliga is Germany's primary football competition. The Bundesliga comprises 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the 2. Bundesliga. Seasons run from August to May. Games are played on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Vladimír Darida
Vladimír Darida (; born 8 August 1990) is a Czech professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Super League Greece club Aris Thessaloniki. He formerly represented the Czech Republic national team. Club career Born in Plzeň, Darida came through at Viktoria Plzeň, also spending time on loan at FK Baník Sokolov in 2011. Niklas Stark (born 14 April 1995) is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or defensive midfielder for Bundesliga club Werder Bremen and the Germany national team. Karim Rekik
Karim Rekik ( ar, كريم رقيق; born 2 December 1994) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a defender for UAE Pro League club Al-Jazira. Rekik came through the youth academy at Feyenoord, before joining Premier League side Manchester City who he signed on a professional terms in 2011. He would only make one appearance for City in the league over a four-year spell, spending time on loan with Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers and PSV. In 2015 he signed for Marseille where he remained for several seasons before joining Hertha BSC. Per Ciljan Skjelbred (born 16 June 1987) is a Norwegian footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Rosenborg. He has previously played for Hertha Berlin and Hamburger SV, and has been capped 43 times playing for Norway, but as of 2017, retired from international football. Club career Skjelbred was born in Trondheim and started his career at local football club Trygg/Lade. Peter Pekarík (; born 30 October 1986) is a Slovak professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Bundesliga club Hertha BSC and the Slovakia national team. Club career Žilina Pekarík, born in Žilina, began playing football at the youth section of his local club. His Corgoň Liga debut came for ZŤS Dubnica.
