2017 Tonga Major League
The 2017 season of the Tonga Major League is the 38th season of top flight association football competition in Tonga. A total of seven teams compete in the league. The winner qualifies for the 2018 OFC Champions League Qualifying stage. Because the Tonga Major League is the only men's senior competition on Tonga there is no relegation. The league was won by Veitongo and they qualified for the 2018 OFC Champions League. Tonga Major League is the top football division of the Tonga Football Association in Tonga. The 2021 season's champion was Veitongo FC. Teams are relegated to the Tonga Division II. The league is not fully professional. Veitongo FC won the championship for the fourth time, and the second time in a row. 2018 OFC Champions League
The 2018 OFC Champions League was the 17th edition of the Oceanian Club Championship, Oceania's premier club football tournament organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) and the 12th season under the current OFC Champions League name. In the final, Team Wellington defeated Lautoka 10–3 on aggregate and qualified as the OFC representative at the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. Auckland City are the defending champions, having won the last seven titles straight, but they were eliminated in the semi-finals.
