2017 Speedway Grand Prix Of Scandinavia
The 2017 Stockholm FIM Speedway Grand Prix was the tenth race of the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on September 22 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. Riders First reserve Peter Kildemand replaced Greg Hancock, second reserve Martin Smolinski replaced Nicki Pedersen and third reserve Max Fricke replaced Niels-Kristian Iversen. The Speedway Grand Prix Commission also nominated Kim Nilsson as the wild card, and Jacob Thorssell and Filip Hjelmland both as Track Reserves. Results The Grand Prix was won by Slovenia's Matej Žagar, who beat Bartosz Zmarzlik, Jason Doyle and Peter Kildemand in the final. It was Zagar's second successive Grand Prix win after finishing first in Germany the round before. Doyle, who equalled the record number of final appearances in one season with nine, initially top scored in the qualifying heats, however third place saw him move 22 points clear of Patryk Dudek, who failed to make the semi-finals. The 2017 IPONE German FIM Speedway Grand Prix was the ninth race of the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on September 9 at the Bergring Arena in Teterow, Germany. Riders First reserve Peter Kildemand replaced Greg Hancock, second reserve Martin Smolinski replaced Nicki Pedersen and third reserve Max Fricke replaced Niels-Kristian Iversen. The Speedway Grand Prix Commission also nominated Kai Huckenbeck as the wild card, and Tobias Kroner and Mathias Bartz both as Track Reserves. Results The Grand Prix was won by Slovenia's Matej Žagar, who beat Martin Vaculík, Jason Doyle and Chris Holder in the final. Niels Kristian Iversen
Niels Kristian Trochmann Iversen (, born 20 June 1982 in Esbjerg, Denmark) is an international motorcycle speedway rider. He is a seven times national champion of Denmark and was part of the Danish teams that won the Speedway World Cup in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. Early life Niels-Kristian Trochmann was born 20 June 1982 in Esbjerg, Denmark to Ann Marie and Flemming Iversen. Growing up with older brother Soren, Iversen decided he want to be a speedway rider. His local town Esbjerg had a track where Iversen began to learn his desired trade. Quickly moving up the ranks in Denmark, his first title came in 1994 at the 50cc Danish Individual Championship. Martin Vaculík
Martin Vaculík (born 5 April 1990) is a Slovak motorcycle speedway rider. Career On the 6 May 2008, Vaculík gained a Polish speedway licence (''Licencja "Ż"'') at Toruń. and from 4 June 2008 he has taken part in the Polish Championships as a Polish domestic rider. In 2012, Vaculik won his first ever Grand Prix as part of the 2012 World Championship, he won the 2012 Speedway Grand Prix of Poland in Gorzów. The following year he won the 2013 Speedway European Championship. After missing the World Championship from 2014 until 2016 he returned in 2017 and won the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix of Slovenia. Tai Woffinden (born 10 August 1990) is a British speedway rider. He is a three-time World Champion (2013, 2015 and 2018). Early life Woffinden was born in Scunthorpe, the son of former speedway rider Rob Woffinden. Although born in the United Kingdom and competing as a British rider, Woffinden grew up in Perth, Western Australia after his parents Rob and Sue decided to move there in 1994. Career Woffinden began his career in junior speedway in Perth where he won the 2006 Western Australian Under-16 title, though he unfortunately missed riding in the Australian Under-16 Championship in Adelaide. Antonio Lindbäck (born 5 May 1985 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden, who competed in the Speedway World Championship and was a member of the Swedish team who won the Speedway World Cup in 2004 and 2015. He earned 17 caps for the Sweden national speedway team. Career Lindbäck made his international debut in 2004 with firstly a wild card ride in the Speedway Grand Prix series but he made a bigger impression in the Speedway World Cup riding for the Swedish team. Jan Fredrik Tobias (Freddie) Lindgren (born 15 September 1985) is a Swedish motorcycle speedway rider. He has won the silver medal and the bronze medal twice at the Speedway World Championship, in addition to the world team championship in 2015. Career Born in Örebro, Sweden. Emil Damirovich Sayfutdinov (; born 26 October 1989) is a motorcycle speedway rider from Russia. He is a member of the Russia national speedway team. He is a three times World team champion, twice World Junior champion and a two-time winner of the European Championships in 2014 and 2015.
