2017 Peruvian Segunda División
The 2017 Segunda División season, also known as Copa Best Cable Perú 2017 for sponsorship reasons, was the 72nd edition of the second tier of Federación Peruana de Futbol. The tournament will be played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. The tournament started on 22 April 2017 and it ended in November 2017. The fixtures were drawn on 6 April 2017. Teams A total of 15 teams played in the league, one less than the previous season, including 12 sides from the 2016 season, two relegated from the 2016 Torneo Descentralizado and one promoted from the 2016 Copa Perú. Universidad César Vallejo returns to the Second Division after an eight-year spell in the top flight. The Liga 2 (Ligue 2) of Peru is the second-highest division in the Peruvian football league system. It is a professional and promotional division organized by the Peruvian Football Federation. This edition has featured a change, with the elimination of the Regional Stage and the inclusion of participants from all the Regions of Peru in the National Stage. Sport Loreto is a local football institution located in Pucallpa, Peru. It was founded in 1939, and it will start playing in the first professional division in 2015. Alianza Universidad
Alianza Universidad is a Peruvian association football club, playing in the city of Huánuco. History The club was founded as Alianza Huánuco on January 1, 1939. The club have played at the highest level of Peruvian football on one occasion, in the 1991 Torneo Descentralizado, but was relegated to the 1992 Torneo Zonal. In the 2011 Copa Perú, the club classified to the National Stage, but was eliminated by Real Garcilaso in the semifinals. It was invited to play in the 2012 Peruvian Segunda Division.
