2017 NLDS
The 2017 National League Division Series were two best-of-five-game series to determine the participating teams of the 2017 National League Championship Series. The three divisional winners (seeded 1–3) and a fourth team—the winner of a one-game Wild Card playoff— played in two series. The 2017 Washington Nationals season was the Nationals' 13th season as the baseball franchise of Major League Baseball in the District of Columbia, the 10th season at Nationals Park, and the 49th since the original team was started in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The 2017 Los Angeles Dodgers season was the 128th for the franchise in Major League Baseball, and their 60th season in Los Angeles, California. They finished the season with the most wins in Los Angeles team history with a major league best 104 wins (fourth best in overall team history, tied with the 1942 team and behind only the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers, 2019 Los Angeles Dodgers, and 2022 Los Angeles Dodgers). David Braxton Flemming (born May 31, 1976) is an American sportscaster who has been a play-by-play announcer for the San Francisco Giants of Major League Baseball since 2003. Flemming also calls college football, college basketball, major league baseball, and golf on ESPN, as well as the World Series, MLB All-Star Game and World Baseball Classic for MLB International. Jerry Layne
Jerry Blake Layne (born September 28, 1958) is an American former umpire in Major League Baseball who has worked in the National League between 1989 and 1999, and throughout both major leagues from 2000 to 2024. He wore uniform number 24 in the NL, but when MLB merged the AL and NL umpiring staffs in 2000, Layne was forced to switch to number 26, as AL umpire Al Clark, who also wore 24, had more seniority. Fieldin Culbreth
Fieldin Henry Culbreth III (born March 16, 1963) is an American former umpire in Major League Baseball (MLB). He worked in the American League from 1993 to 1999 and in both major leagues from 2000 until his retirement in 2021. Culbreth was promoted to crew chief prior to the 2013 season. Umpiring career Blaser is a graduate of Pomona High School and attended Colorado State University. Alan Dwayne Porter Jr. (born December 18, 1977) is an American Major League Baseball umpire. He umpired his first Major League game on April 5, 2010. He wears uniform number 64. Paul Nauert
Paul Edward Nauert () (born July 7, 1963) is an American retired professional baseball umpire. He worked for the National League from 1995 to 1999 and for Major League Baseball from 2002 until his retirement in 2022. Nauert worked the 2017 World Series. Nauert graduated from the Harry Wendelstedt Umpires School in 1988, finishing at the top of his class. He later taught at the school. He also attended Jefferson Community College.
