The 2017 Lisboa Belém Open was a professional tennis tournament played on clay courts. It was the first edition of the tournament which was part of the 2017 ATP Challenger Tour. João Frederico Limpo Franco Gil (born 24 March 1985), known as Fred Gil (), was a Portuguese professional tennis player, who competed in the ITF Men's Circuit. He reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 62 in the world on 25 April 2011. Gil made some Portuguese tennis major breakthroughs during his career.
