2017 Jerez FIA Formula 2 Round
The 2017 Jerez FIA Formula 2 round was a pair of motor races held on 7 and 8 October 2017 at the Circuito de Jerez in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain as part of the FIA Formula 2 Championship. It was the tenth and penultimate round of the 2017 FIA Formula 2 Championship. After a disappointing round in 2017 Monza FIA Formula 2 round, Monza for championship leader Charles Leclerc with a total of 0 points to his name, the Monégasque driver took yet another pole position and prematurely clinched the championship title by winning his sixth race of the season with three races to spare. With only one weekend to go, Leclerc was leading the championship with an unassailable lead by 60 points over current runner-up Oliver Rowland. Circuito De Jerez
Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto (formerly known as Circuito de Jerez and Circuito de Velocidad Jerez), is a racing circuit located close to the city of Jerez de la Frontera, south of Seville and deep within the sherry-producing region in the south of Spain. The project was led by the Spanish engineer Manuel Medina Lara, based on a preliminary idea from Alessandro Rocci. Circuit history The circuit opened on 8 December 1985. During 1986 the circuit hosted the first international motorcycle event in Spain in March and the Formula One Spanish Grand Prix in April. The circuit's relatively remote location hindered significant spectator turnout, although up to 125,000 can be accommodated. Because of this, F1 moved to Barcelona following the 1990 race. Luca Ghiotto (born 24 February 1995) is an Italian racing driver who competes in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans and 2025 European Le Mans Series for Inter Europol Competition. He also competed in select rounds in the 2024 IndyCar Series for Dale Coyne Racing. Career Karting Born in Arzignano, Ghiotto entered karting in 2008, when he took the title in the KF3 class of the Champions Cup, before he finished fourth the following year. Rapax Team was an Italian motor racing team. The team's history can be traced back to when the GP Racing team was founded in 1997, and also to when Piquet Sports was created in 2000 by triple world champion Nelson Piquet.
