''Tonight with Vincent Browne'' (formerly ''Nightly News with Vincent Browne'') was a news analysis, Current affairs (news format), current affairs and politics programme which was broadcast on Republic of Ireland, Ireland's Virgin Media One, TV3 from 2007 to July 2017. Its time on air coincided with the premierships of Brian Cowen and Enda Kenny, bookended by the conclusion of Bertie Ahern's premiership and the initial weeks of Leo Varadkar's. ''The Tonight Show'', hosted by Ivan Yates (initially) and Matt Cooper (Irish journalist), Matt Cooper, replaced it in mid-September 2017. ''Ireland's greatest sporting moment'' was a series of five programmes that aired in 2017 to find Ireland's best moment of sport in the television era. The programmes were presented by Evanne Ní Chuilinn and Des Cahill with the series starting on RTÉ2 on 9 November 2017. Four moments were voted for over the first four weeks between 1962 and 2012 with each week's winner progressing to the grand final. The overall winner was revealed in the final programme which aired on 7 December 2017. The winning moment was Ireland's penalty shootout win over Romania at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. ''Pablo'' is a British-Irish children's television series that premiered on CBeebies on 2 October 2017 and created by Grainne McGuinness. The series follows the adventures of Pablo, a five year old (later 8 year old) Autism, autistic boy, and his imaginary anthropomorphism, anthropomorphized animal friends, the Book Animals, who go on adventures in Pablo's 'Art World'. It is a hybrid of live action sequences and 2D animation. The series features a voice cast and writing team who are all autistic. It also broadcasts internationally, including on ABC Kids (Australia), ABC Kids, Nat Geo Kids (Latin American TV channel), Nat Geo Kids, CBC Television, CBC Kids, Universal Kids, S4C and Netflix. ''Striking Out'' is an Television in the Republic of Ireland, Irish television legal drama television series, broadcast on RTÉ, that first aired on 1 January 2017, based on ''The Good Wife'' by Robert King (writer), Robert and Michelle King. Produced by Bl!nder F!lms for RTÉ Television, ''Striking Out'' stars Amy Huberman as Dublin-based solicitor Tara Rafferty, who is currently working for a fledgling legal firm. Filmed in Dublin and Wicklow, the first series, comprising four episodes, was broadcast during January 2017, to critical acclaim. Subsequently, the series was sold to the United States, where it made its North American debut on Acorn TV on 17 March 2017. The RTÉ Sports Person of the Year Award is the titular award of the RTÉ Sports Awards ceremony, which takes place each December. The winner is the Irish sportsperson (from the island of Ireland) judged to have achieved the most that year. The winner was originally chosen by a special panel of RTÉ journalists and editorial staff, but was selected by a public vote from a predetermined shortlist in 2016. History The first Irish sports award ceremony took place in 1985, and was closely modelled on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award. Four people have won the award multiple times: athlete Sonia O'Sullivan won the award five times, including a record three successive awards, and golfer Pádraig Harrington and boxer Katie Taylor, with three wins, and golfer Rory McIlroy, who won it twice. James McClean
James Joseph McClean (born 22 April 1989) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Wrexham. McClean began his career with Trojans, Institute, and Derry City of his hometown. He signed for Sunderland in England's Premier League in 2011 and moved to Wigan Athletic in August 2013. He spent two seasons at Wigan, claiming their player of the year award in the latter, and then returned to the Premier League by joining West Bromwich Albion in June 2015. McClean spent three season with the Baggies before joining Stoke City in July 2018. McClean re-signed for Wigan Athletic in August 2021 and joined Wrexham two years later.
