2017 CS Autumn Classic
The 2017 CS Autumn Classic International was held in September 2017 at the Sportsplexe Pierrefonds in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was part of the 2017–18 ISU Challenger Series. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 figure skating season, 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four (Single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. Single Skating
Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's singles are governed by the International Skating Union (ISU). Figure skating is the oldest winter sport contested at the Olympics, with men's and women's single skating appearing as two of the four figure skating events at the London Games in 1908. Single skaters are required to perform two segments in all international competitions, the short program and the free skating program. Nathan Chen from the United States holds both the highest single men's short program and free skating scores; Russian skater Kamila Valieva holds both the highest single women's short program and free skating scores. Keegan Messing
Keegan Messing (born January 23, 1992) is a Canadian-American retired figure skater. Representing Canada, he has competed at two Winter Olympic Games in 2018 and 2022. He has also appeared at three World Championships, placing as high as sixth. He is the 2023 Four Continents silver medalist, 2021 CS Golden Spin of Zagreb champion, a two-time Nebelhorn Trophy champion (2018 and 2022), and a two-time Grand Prix medalist. At the national level, he is a two time Canadian national (2022 and 2023) champion. Alaine Chartrand (; born March 26, 1996) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2014 Rostelecom Cup bronze medallist, the 2016 CS Autumn Classic silver medallist, and a two-time Canadian national champion (2016, 2019). Elladj Baldé (born November 9, 1990) is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. He won the 2015 Nebelhorn Trophy, an ISU Challenger Series event. He is the 2008 Canadian Junior champion. Personal life Elladj Baldé was born November 9, 1990, in Moscow to a Russian mother and a Guinean father, Ibrahim, from the village of Tombon, near Labé. Brooklee Han (born July 6, 1995) is an American-Australian retired figure skater who represented Australia in ladies' singles. She is the 2018 CS Alpen Trophy bronze medalist, the 2013 Volvo Open Cup champion, the 2013 Australian national champion, and a five-time Australian national silver medalist (2012, 2014–2018). She placed 20th at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Personal life Brooklee Han was born in Beverly, Massachusetts. In 2013, she graduated from Joel Barlow High School in Redding, Connecticut.
