2017 CONCACAF Futsal Club Championship
The 2017 CONCACAF Futsal Club Championship was the second edition of the CONCACAF Futsal Club Championship. It was played from 21 to 26 August 2017 at the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Teams A total of eight teams, representing eight CONCACAF member associations, were invited to enter the competition. Draw The draw was held on 21 July 2017, 12:00 UTC−4, at the CONCACAF headquarters in Miami Beach, Florida. The eight teams were drawn into two groups of four. UPNFM (Honduras) were seeded into Group A as the host team, and Grupo Line Futsal (Costa Rica) were seeded into Group B as the team from the participating association with the best result in the previous edition in 2014. The Unión Centroamericana de Fútbol (Central American Football Union), more commonly known by the acronym UNCAF, represents the national football teams of Central America: Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. Goal difference, goal differential or points difference is a form of tiebreaker used to rank sport teams which finish on equal points in a league competition. Either "goal difference" or "points difference" is used, depending on whether matches are scored by goals (as in ice hockey and association football) or by points (as in rugby union and basketball). Fax (short for facsimile), sometimes called telecopying or telefax (the latter short for telefacsimile), is the telephonic transmission of scanned printed material (both text and images), normally to a telephone number connected to a printer or other output device. Universidad Pedagógica Nacional Francisco Morazán, most commonly known as UPNFM or Lobos (''English: Wolves'') is a Honduran football club, based In Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The club currently plays in the Honduran Liga Nacional. History The club was founded on August 10, 2010 as a sports club for the university. By coincidence, that very same year a place opened up in the Liga Nacional de Ascenso. Until that year, major Honduran teams had fielded affiliates that competed in the Liga de Ascenso.
