2017 Big 12 Conference Football Season
The 2017 Big 12 Conference football season was the 22nd season of Big 12 Conference football, taking place during the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The season began with non-conference play on Saturday, September 2, 2017, when all 10 of the league's teams played their first non-conference opponents. Big 12 Conference play began on Saturday, September 23, 2017. The 2017 season was the sixth for the Big 12 since the 2010–13 Big 12 Conference realignment brought the Big 12 membership to its current form. The conference had ten members: Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and West Virginia. The College Football Playoff (CFP) is an annual single-elimination tournament, knockout invitational tournament to determine a national champion for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest level of college football competition in the United States.
