2017 Abu Dhabi Tour
The 2017 Abu Dhabi Tour was a road cycling stage race that took place between 23 and 26 February. It was the third edition of the Abu Dhabi Tour and was the third event of the 2017 UCI World Tour. It was the first time that the race was included in the UCI World Tour calendar. The race's mountain-top finish at Jebel Hafeet provided the final podium of the race, after Mark Cavendish (), Marcel Kittel () and Caleb Ewan () won the three sprint stages. 2013 world champion Rui Costa, riding for the newly renamed , broke away with 's Ilnur Zakarin, with the two staying clear to the end; Costa was able to out-sprint Zakarin, and with the additional bonus seconds for winning the stage, Costa held onto the final victory by four seconds. The podium was completed by rider Tom Dumoulin, who tried to close the pair down on the mountain, but fell ten seconds shy on the stage. 2017 UCI World Tour
The 2017 UCI World Tour was a competition that included thirty-seven road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2017 in men's road cycling, 2017 men's cycling season. It was the ninth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The competition started with the opening stage of the 2017 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 17 January and concluded with the final stage of the 2017 Tour of Guangxi, Tour of Guangxi on 24 October. Slovakia's Peter Sagan was the defending champion. The 2017 edition featured ten new events. Sagan was unable to defend his World Tour title, winning just one race overall at the 2017 Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec, Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec in September, as he finished fourth in the points rankings; he finished one point behind third-placed Tom Dumoulin. André Greipel
André Greipel (born 16 July 1982) is a German cyclist, who rode professionally in road bicycle racing between 2005 and 2021. Since his retirement from road racing, Greipel has worked as a directeur sportif for UCI Continental teams and , and in 2023, he became the national road coach for the German Cycling Federation. He also competes in masters cycling events for RC Schmitter Köln. During his professional career, Greipel competed as a sprinter (cycling), pure sprinter and took a total of 158 wins. The Hazza bin Zayed Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium, located in the city of Al-Ain, Abu Dhabi, the UAE. It is the home stadium of Al-Ain FC of the UAE Pro-League.
