2017 ASEAN Para Games
The 2017 ASEAN Para Games (), officially known as the 9th ASEAN Para Games (), was a Southeast Asian Disabled sports, disabled multi-sport event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 17 days after the 2017 Southeast Asian Games from 17 to 23 September 2017. This was the third time Malaysia host the ASEAN Para Games and its first time since 2009 ASEAN Para Games, 2009. Previously, Malaysia also hosted the inaugural games in 2001 ASEAN Para Games, 2001. Around 1452 athletes participated at the event, which featured 369 events in 16 sports. It was opened by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Najib Razak at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium. The final medal tally was led by Indonesia, followed by host Malaysia and Thailand, while East Timor won its first ever ASEAN Para Games gold medals. The ''New Straits Times'' is an English-language newspaper published in Malaysia. Velodrom Nasional Malaysia ( English: Malaysian National Velodrome) is a sporting facility located in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The velodrome is the first indoor velodrome in Southeast Asia. It replaces the 28-year-old Velodrome Rakyat in Ipoh, Perak, which is being upgraded and the 30-year-old Cheras Velodrome in Kuala Lumpur, which will be demolished to make way for commercial development, as the nation's track cycling hub. Putrajaya (), officially the Federal Territory of Putrajaya (), is the administrative centre of Malaysia. Sunway Pyramid is a shopping mall located in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya, Selangor which was developed by the Sunway Group. History Sunway Pyramid was designed by the design director of Sunway, Nelson Yong. After several architects were unable to meet expectations for the building's façade, Yong assumed responsibility for the interior design and architectural concept. According to Yong, he immediately had an inspiration and sketched the iconic lion head, the pyramid and roughly how the building facade would look like after meeting with Sunway's chairman, Tan Sri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah. Malaysia National Hockey Stadium
Malaysia National Hockey Stadium () is a multi-use stadium in National Sports Complex, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is currently used mostly for the Malaysia national field hockey team and the Malaysia women's national field hockey team. The main stadium holds up to 12,000 people and was built in 1997. There is a second pitch located adjacent to the stadium, with 2,000 seats and is used to hold smaller capacity as well as practice matches. Nilai is a city located in the Seremban District of the state of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, located close to the border with Selangor.
