2016–17 FC Alashkert Season
The 2016–17 season was Alashkert's fifth season in the Armenian Premier League and tenth overall, of which Alashkert were defending Premier League champions, having won the title previous season. Alashkert retained their title, seeing off Gandzasar Kapan by 7 points, were knocked out of the Armenian Cup in the Quarterfinals and reached the Second Qualifying Round in their first appearance in the Champions League. Season events On 28 June, Alashkert drew 0-0 with Andorran Champions Santa Coloma in their first UEFA Champions League qualifier. In the second leg, on 5 July, Alashkert ran out 3-0 winners against 8-man Santa Coloma. On 3 August, Alashkert announced the signing of Dmitri Kortava to a three-year contract from Luch-Energiya Vladivostok, However less than two weeks later, Kortava left Alashkert by mutual consent and signed for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, with Yuriy Fomenko signing for Alashkert on the same day after his contract with Inter Baku had expired. Football Club Alashkert (), commonly known as Alashkert, is an Armenian football club based in the capital Yerevan, founded in 1990 in Martuni and after folding in 2000 re-founded in 2011. They currently play in the Armenian Premier League. The home stadium of the team is the Alashkert Stadium in Yerevan. The club headquarters are located on Saryan street 25, Yerevan. Although based in Yerevan they are in fact named after the historic town of Alashkert in the Western Armenia, now Eleşkirt. Alashkert have won the Armenian Premier League title on four occasions and the Armenian Cup once. The club has also won the Armenian Supercup three times. FC Luch Vladivostok () was an association football club based in Vladivostok. In 2005, Luch won the Russian First Division and played in the Russian Premier League, Premier League from 2006 to 2008. Andranik Voskanyan (; born 11 April 1990) is an Armenian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back. Club career Andranik Voskanyan loved football from early childhood. When he was in the first grade, a football coach visited looking for children interested in playing football. Voskanyan did not miss the opportunity and started to go to training. He began his career in the football school of Malatia Yerevan (now school property of Banants Yerevan) under the direction of Hakob Andreasyan. He started playing for Mika-2 in the Armenian First League in 2008. Two years later, Voskanyan made his debut for the first team Mika Yerevan in the Armenian Premier League. Gevorg Kasparov (, born 25 July 1980) is an Armenian Goalkeeping coach (UEFA B Licence) and former professional goalkeeper. Club career Dvin Artashat Before playing in Dvin, Kasparov is a graduate of the Yerevan football school. As a youth, he played with the team Dvin Artashat. He played for this youth club from 1997 – 1998. At the age of 17 he became the main goalkeeper for the club.
