2016–17 Azerbaijan Premier League
The 2016–17 Azerbaijan Premier League was the 25th season of the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top tier Azerbaijani professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. Qarabağ FK, Qarabağ were the defending champions, having won the previous 2015–16 Azerbaijan Premier League, season. The season began on 6 August 2016 and concluded on 29 April 2017. On 16 April 2017, Qarabağ FK, Qarabağ defeated Inter Baku PIK, Inter Baku 3–0 to successfully defend their league title - their fourth league title in a row and fifth overall. Azerbaijan Premier League
The Azerbaijan Premier League (), also known as Misli Premyer Liqası for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Azerbaijan and the highest level of the Azerbaijani football league system. It is contested by twelve clubs. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 33 matches each (playing each team in the league three times, twice at home and once away). The Premier League champion secures the right to play in UEFA Champions League first qualifying round. The runner up and the 3rd-place winner secure the right to play in UEFA Europa Conference League starting in second qualifying round. Since 1992, a total of eight clubs have been crowned champions of the Azerbaijani football system. Kapaz PFK (, ), is an Azerbaijani football club based in Ganja, which competes in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the highest tier of Azerbaijan football. The club was founded as Toxucu in 1959. They have won the Azerbaijani Championship 3 times and the Azerbaijani Football Cup 4 times. The team's colours are yellow and blue. Tarlan Ahmadov
Tarlan Musa oglu Ahmadov (, born 17 November 1971) is an Azerbaijani football manager and former defender. Ahmadov had a lengthy club career with spells in Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine and Iran. He won 75 caps in 12 years for the Azerbaijani national team, having previously represented the Soviet Union at under-21 level. ASK Arena (), formerly Inter Arena and Shafa Stadium is an all-seater football stadium located in Baku .
