2016–17 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship
The 2016–17 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship was the 13th staging of the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's intermediate inter county, inter-county club hurling tournament. The championship began on 22 October 2016 and ended on 18 February 2017. On 18 February 2017, Carrickshock GAA, Carrickshock won the championship following a 2–15 to 0–6 defeat of Ahascragh-Fohenagh GAA, Ahascragh-Fohenagh in the final. John Tennyson
John Tennyson (born 6 February 1985) is an Irish hurler who played as a centre-back for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in County Kilkenny, Tennyson first played competitive hurling whilst at school in St. Kieran's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 and intermediate sides. He made his senior debut during the 2005 championship. Tennyson went on to play for what has come to be known as the greatest team of all-time, and has won three All-Ireland medals, four Leinster medals and two National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. Bandon GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling club based in Bandon, County Cork, Bandon in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Gaelic Grounds
The Gaelic Grounds, known for sponsorship reasons as the TUS Gaelic Grounds, is the principal GAA stadium in the city of Limerick in Ireland. Home to the Limerick hurling and football teams, it has a capacity of 44,023. History 9 October 1926 saw first steps taken towards creating the Limerick Gaelic Grounds. A farm containing was purchased at Coolraine on the Ennis Road for development as a GAA sports ground. Two years later, the new grounds at ''Páirc na nGael'' were officially opened with two junior hurling games. The first big effort to raise funds for the development of the grounds was in 1932, with the establishment of a development committee, whose remit was to level the pitch, providing sideline seating and erect a boundary wall. The 1950s saw crowds of up to 50,000 attending games in the grounds. In 1958, a new stand was built at the grounds. St Josephs Doora-Barefield GAA
St Joseph's, Doora-Barefield is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Doora-Barefield outside Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. Hurling was the more popular sport in Doora-Barefield over Gaelic football, now it's 50-50 between the both of them. Their main playing fields are in Gurteen. Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship
The Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Hurling Intermediate Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Munster GAA, Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion intermediate clubs in the province of Munster in Ireland. Kiltale GAA
Kiltale GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association hurling club based in Kiltale, in County Meath, Ireland. The club was founded in the early 1920s, then disbanded in 1934 but reformed in 1946. The club does not play Gaelic football; the county's football competitions are contested by the other club in the parish, Moynalvey. Celbridge is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Celbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. Raheny GAA (Irish language, Irish: ''CLG Rath Éanna'' ), founded 1958, is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Raheny, Dublin. History The club was established in 1958, and was at first one of two clubs in the area, though the other, St Vincent's, with grounds at The Oval in central Raheny, served a different catchment.
