2016 Washington Huskies Football Team
The 2016 Washington Huskies football team represented the University of Washington in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The team was led by Chris Petersen in his third season as head coach of the Huskies. Washington competed as a member of the North Division of the Pac-12 Conference and played their home games on campus at Husky Stadium in Seattle. Washington finished the season with a 12–2 overall record and went 8–1 in conference to win the Pac-12 North Division, the program's first division title since the Pac-12 expanded and split into divisions in 2011. Most notable was defeating Stanford and Oregon, two of the toughest annual opponents for the team in recent years, by a combined 114–28. The Stanford game took place in front of a sold out crowd on ESPN and the Oregon game snapped a 12-game losing streak to the Ducks. The Pac-12 Conference is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference in the Western United States. It participates at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I, Division I level for all sports, and its College football, football teams compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest level of NCAA football competition. This season marked the Crimson Tide's 122nd overall season, 83rd as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and its 25th within the SEC Western Division. Nick Harris (offensive Lineman)
Nick Harris (born November 13, 1998) is an American professional football center for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Washington Huskies and was selected by the Browns in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft. He also played for the Seattle Seahawks. College career Washington was the only Football Bowl Subdivision school to offer Harris a scholarship, and he committed on July 30, 2015, although Harris did receive offers from Football Championship Subdivision teams New Hampshire and Cal Poly. Aaron Fuller (born September 30, 1997) is an American football wide receiver who is a free agent. He played college football at Washington. Early life Fuller grew up in McKinney, Texas and attended Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas. As a junior, he was named the District 10-5A Offensive Player of the Year and All- Collin County after finishing the season with 69 receptions for 1,396 yards and 22 touchdowns. As a senior, Fuller caught 86 passes for 1,178 yards and 14 touchdowns with two rushing touchdowns and two punts returned for touchdowns and repeated as an All-Collin County selection. Levi Onwuzurike (born March 2, 1998) is an American professional football defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Washington Huskies, and was selected by the Lions in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft. The 2023 Washington Huskies football team represented the University of Washington as a member of the Pac–12 Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Huskies were led by Kalen DeBoer in his second and final season as Washington's head coach, before leaving for Alabama at the end of the season. The College Football Playoff (CFP) is an annual single-elimination tournament, knockout invitational tournament to determine a national champion for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest level of college football competition in the United States.
