2016 Ukrainian Super Cup
The 2016 Ukrainian Super Cup became the thirteenth edition of Ukrainian Super Cup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Ukrainian Top League and Ukrainian Cup competitions. The match was played at the Chornomorets Stadium, Odesa, on 16 July 2016, and contested by league winner Dynamo Kyiv and cup winner Shakhtar Donetsk. Shakhtar won it on penalty shootout. Football Club Dynamo Kyiv (, ) is a Ukrainian professional Association football, football club based in Kyiv. Founded in 1927 as a Kyivan football team of republican branch of the bigger Soviet Union, Soviet Dynamo Sports Club, Dynamo Sports Society, the club as a separate business entity was officially formed only in 1989 and currently plays in the Ukrainian Premier League, and has List of unrelegated association football clubs, never been relegated to a lower division. Derlis Alberto González Galeano (born 20 March 1994) is a Paraguayan professional footballer who plays for Paraguayan club Club Olimpia and the Paraguay national team. Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Shovkovskyi ( uk, Олександр Володимирович Шовковський; born 2 January 1975) is a Ukrainian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Darijo Srna (; born 1 May 1982) is a Croatian former professional footballer and current director of football of Ukrainian Premier League club Shakhtar Donetsk. During most of his career he played as a right wing-back. He began his career at Hajduk Split, before moving to Shakhtar in 2003.
