The 2016 season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League was the inaugural edition of the TNPL, a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Tamil Nadu, India. Tamil Nadu Cricket Association
Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) is the governing body of cricket activities in the India state of Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India and governs the Tamil Nadu cricket team. Rupa Gurunath is the former president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association who resigned her's job recently and she is a daughter of N Srinivasan. Robindra Ramnarine "Robin" Singh (born 14 September 1963) is an Indian former cricketer and cricket coach. He represented India in one Test and 136 ODIs between 1989 and 2001 as an all-rounder. He has coached the Indian Premier League's Mumbai Indians since 2010 and the Caribbean Premier League's Barbados Tridents since 2013. He has also coached the Deccan Chargers in the IPL's inaugural year. As a player, he was known for his calmness and ability to perform under pressure. Subramaniam Badrinath ( ta, சுப்பிரமணியம் பத்ரிநாத்; born 30 August 1980) is a former Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed middle order batsman. Badrinath has represented India in One Day International and test matches. In first class cricket, he captains Vidarbha and was captain of Tamil Nadu earlier. Karaikudi is a Greater municipality in Sivagangai district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the 21st largest urban agglomeration of Tamil Nadu based on 2011 census data. The current champions, Chepauk Super Gillies are also the most successful team after winning the title in 2017, 2019 and 2021. The other teams which have won the title are Salem Spartans (Tuti Patriots) in 2016 and Siechem Madurai Panthers in 2018.
