2016 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000
The 2016 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 was a motor racing event for Supercars, held on the weekend of 6 to 9 October 2016. The event was held at the Mount Panorama Circuit near Bathurst, New South Wales, and consisted of one race of 1000 kilometres in length. It was the eleventh event of fourteen in the 2016 International V8 Supercars Championship and hosted Race 21 of the season. It was also the second event of the 2016 Pirtek Enduro Cup. The event marked ten years since the first awarding of the Peter Brock Trophy, which was introduced following the death of nine-time race winner Peter Brock in September 2006. Triple Eight Race Engineering drivers Jamie Whincup and Paul Dumbrell started the race from pole position. The race was won by Tekno Autosports' Will Davison and Jonathon Webb. Bathurst () is a city in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia. Bathurst is about 200 kilometres (120 mi) west-northwest of Sydney and is the seat of the Bathurst Region, Bathurst Regional Council. Cameron Eric "Conkers" McConville (born 22 January 1974) is an Australian racing driver and motorsport celebrity. While retired from full-time competition, McConville still races occasionally and is an in-demand endurance event co-driver. McConville spent 14 years as a professional driver, ten of those in the largest Australian domestic category, Supercars Championship. Tickford Racing (formerly known as Prodrive Racing Australia and Ford Performance Racing) is an Australian motor racing team which competes in the Supercars Championship. Warren Raymond Luff (born 21 April 1976), is best known as a race driver, stunt driver and driver training instructor. He is the son of well-known driver training instructor Ian Luff. Garth Dirk Tander (born 31 March 1977) is a multiple-championship winning Australian motor racing driver competing in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship's Enduro Cup, co-driving for Grove Racing. Walkinshaw Andretti United is an Australian motor racing team based in the Melbourne suburb of Clayton. The team, initially branded as the Holden Racing Team, used to field Holden Commodores in the Supercars Championship before making the switch to Ford Mustangs for the 2023 season. Mark Robert "Didley" Porter (2 October 1974 – 8 October 2006) was a New Zealand racing driver who competed in the Fujitsu V8 Supercars, V8 Supercar touring car racing series in Australia. His V8 Supercar series debut was in a Ford Falcon (Australia), Ford Falcon at Wakefield Park in 2002 V8 Supercar season, 2002, and he debuted in the 2002 Bathurst 1000, Bathurst 1000 the same year. 2006 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000
The 2006 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 was an endurance race for V8 Supercars, held on 8 October 2006 at the Mount Panorama Circuit near Bathurst in New South Wales, Australia. It was Round 9 of the 2006 V8 Supercar Championship Series. The event was the tenth running of the "Australia 1000" race, first held after the organisational split over the Bathurst 1000 that occurred in 1997. It was also the 49th race in a sequence of endurance events beginning with the 1960 Armstrong 500 held at Phillip Island. The race was won by Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup driving a Ford Falcon (BA) entered by Team Betta Electrical.
