2016 PBA D-League Foundation Cup
The 2016 PBA-D-League Foundation Cup is the second conference of the 2015-16 PBA Developmental League season. Seven (7) teams including new team Blustar Detergent Dragons composed of the Westports Malaysia Dragons players will be compete in the two-month conference that will start on June 2, 2016 at the Ynares Sports Arena, Pasig. The games will be aired on AksyonTV, Hyper and Sports5.ph. Teams Format Conference format as it follows: *All seven teams will play in a double round-robin elimination phase. *Top 4 teams of the elimination round will advanced in the semifinals round. *In case of ties in the elimination round standings, it will be broken via the quotient system. *Top 2 teams will get a twice-to-beat semifinals incentives. *The two teams who won the semifinals matches will battle in a best-of-3 finals series. Meralco Bolts
The Meralco Bolts is a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association. The team began in 2010 after the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) acquired the PBA franchise of the Sta. Lucia Realtors. The team is one of three PBA teams presently under the control of businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan – the other teams being the TNT Tropang Giga and the NLEX Road Warriors. Bacoor
Bacoor (), officially the City of Bacoor ( fil, Lungsod ng Bacoor), is a 1st class component city in the province of Cavite, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 664,625 people, making it the 15th most populous city in the Philippines and the second largest city in the province of Cavite after Dasmariñas. Etymology Some accounts indicate that the city of Bacoor, also named Bakood or Bakoor was founded as a ''pueblo'' or town in 1671. When Spanish troops first arrived in Bacoor they met some local inhabitants in the process of building a bamboo fence (''bakod'' in Filipino) around a house. The Spaniards asked the men the name of the village but because of the difficulties in understanding each other, the local inhabitants thought the Spaniards were asking what they were building. Manolito "Eric" Gonzales Jr. (born September 3, 1972) is a Filipino professional basketball coach, currently with the Quezon Huskers in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the Pilipinas Super League (PSL). Coaching career Gonzales is a former University of Santo Tomas track and field star from 1992 to 1994. He started his coaching career by serving as an assistant for Binky Favis in 1995 with the Tiger Cubs. Goh Cheng Huat is a Malaysian basketball coach who is the head coach of the Malaysia national basketball team since May 2016. He has also served the same position from 2009-2011.
