2016 IAAF World Indoor Tour
The 2016 IAAF World Indoor Tour was the inaugural edition of the IAAF World Indoor Tour, planned as an annual series of track and field indoor meetings. It was designed to create an IAAF Diamond League-style circuit for indoor track and field events, to raise the profile of indoor track and field athletics. The Tour was announced with initially four events for 2016, three in Europe and one in the United States, leading to the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Portland, Oregon. Winners of the Tour enjoyed similar privileges in relation to World Indoor Championships qualification as Diamond League winners do in relation to World Championships in Athletics. 2017 IAAF World Indoor Tour
The 2017 IAAF World Indoor Tour was the second edition of the IAAF World Indoor Tour, the highest level of annual series of track and field indoor meetings. It was designed to create an IAAF Diamond League-style circuit for indoor track and field events, to raise the profile of indoor track and field athletics. Announced with initially four events for 2016, three in Europe and one in the United States, leading to the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Portland, Oregon, the second edition contained 5 meetings, and took place in a year with no World Indoor championships; therefore qualification places were not applicable. The Globen Galan was removed from this year's series, and the Stockholm leg was replaced by the International Copernicus Cup, a long-standing indoor event in Torún, Poland for 2017. Kim Collins
Kim Collins (born 5 April 1976) is a former track and field sprinter from Saint Kitts and Nevis. In 2003, he became the World Champion in the 100 metres. He represented his country at the Summer Olympics on five occasions, from 1996 to 2016, and was the country's first athlete to reach an Olympic final. He competed at ten editions of the World Championships in Athletics, from 1995 to 2015, winning five medals. He was a twice runner-up in the 60 metres at the IAAF World Indoor Championships (2003, 2008). At regional level, he was a gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games and a silver medallist at the Pan American Games. Dejen Gebremeskel
Dejen Gebremeskel (born 24 November 1989) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who primarily competes in track events. His personal best of 12:46.81 minutes for the 5000 metres ranks him as the fifth fastest of all time for the distance. He was the 5000 m silver medallist at the 2012 London Olympics and took the bronze medal over that distance at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics. He won his first track medals as a junior, coming second at the African Junior Athletics Championships, then taking the bronze medal at the 2008 World Junior Championships in Athletics. Nick Willis
Nicholas Ian Willis (born 25 April 1983) is a New Zealand middle distance runner and the country's only two-time Olympic medalist in the 1500 metres. He won the silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and bronze at the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. Andrew Wheating
Andrew "Andy" Wheating is a retired American middle distance runner. Wheating competed for the United States in the men's 800 m at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, and in the 1500 m at the 2012 Summer Olympics. He was a professional runner for Nike. Personal Wheating was born in 1987 in Norwich, Vermont, the son of Justin and Betsy Wheating. His father, born in South Africa, was a field hockey player. Boris Berian
Boris Berian (born December 19, 1992) is an American middle distance runner. He was the 2016 National Champion and represented the United States at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships in the 800 meters where he won the gold medal. He set his indoor best winning the world championships at 1:45.87, boldly front running a sub-50 first 400. Outdoors he set his personal best 1:43.34 at the 2015 Herculis meet. Augustine Kiprono Choge
Augustine Kiprono Choge (born 21 January 1987) is a Kenyan middle distance and long distance runner. He won world youth and junior titles on the track in 2003 and 2004, eventually going on to set a world junior record for the 3000 metres in 2005. In his final year as a junior he won the World Cross Country Junior title. He claimed the 5000 metres gold medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, but began to focus more on the 1500 metres from then on. Adam Kszczot
Adam Piotr Kszczot (pronounced ; born 2 September 1989) is a retired Polish middle-distance runner, who specialized in the 800 metres. His achievements include a gold medal at the 2018 World Indoor Championships as well as silver medals at the 2014 World Indoor Championships, 2015 and 2017 World Championships in addition to multiple medals on European level. Michael Rodgers (born April 24, 1985) is an American professional track and field sprinter who specializes in the 100 m and the 60 m. He won the gold medal in the 100m relay in Doha 2019. He is also the Pan-Am Games Champion. Career Rodgers attended Berkeley High School in St. Louis, Missouri where he ran varsity track and played varsity basketball for the Bulldogs.
