2016 China Open (tennis)
The 2016 China Open was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 18th edition of the China Open for the men (20th for the women). It was part of ATP World Tour 500 series on the 2016 ATP World Tour, and the last WTA Premier Mandatory tournament of the 2016 WTA Tour. Both the men's and the women's events were held at the National Tennis Center in Beijing, China, from October 3 to October 9, 2016. Hardcourt
A hardcourt (or hard court) is a type of surface or floor on which a sport is played, most usually in reference to tennis courts. It is typically made of rigid materials such as asphalt or concrete, and covered with acrylic resins to seal the surface and mark the playing lines, while providing some cushioning. Historically, hardwood surfaces were also in use in indoor settings, similar to an indoor basketball court, but these surfaces are rare now. Tennis Tennis hard courts are made of synthetic/acrylic layers on top of a concrete or asphalt foundation and can vary in color. These courts tend to play medium-fast to fast because there is little energy absorption by the court, as with grass courts but unlike clay courts. Dominic Thiem
Dominic Thiem (; born 3 September 1993) is an Austrian former professional tennis player. He was ranked world No. 3 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he first achieved in March 2020. Thiem won 17 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including a major at the 2020 US Open. He finished runner-up at three other majors, the 2018 and 2019 French Opens and the 2020 Australian Open. John Millman
John H. Millman (born 14 June 1989) is an Australian former professional tennis player. He won one title on the ATP Tour, the 2020 Astana Open, reaching a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 33 in October 2018. Lu Yen-hsun (; born 14 August 1983) is a Taiwanese coach and former tennis player, who goes by the nickname Rendy Lu. He won the most titles on the ATP Challenger Tour in tennis history.
