2016 Bislett Games
The 2016 Bislett Games was the 52nd edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in Oslo, Norway. Held on 9 June at Bislett Stadium, it was the seventh leg of the 2016 Diamond League – the highest level international track and field circuit. Diamond discipline results A revised points system was introduced during the 2016 Diamond League season where athletes earned points towards a season leaderboard (10-6-4-2-1 respectively), points per event were then doubled in the Diamond League Finals. Athletes had to take part in the Diamond race during the finals to be eligible to win the Diamond trophy which is awarded to the athlete with the most points at the end of the season. Oslo
Oslo ( or ; ) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. The municipality of Oslo had a population of in 2022, while the city's greater urban area had a population of 1,064,235 in 2022, and the metropolitan area had an estimated population of in 2021. Taoufik Makhloufi (; born 29 April 1988) is an Algerian athlete who specialises in middle-distance running. He became the 1500 metres Olympic champion at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England. In 2016, Makhloufi took the silver medal in the 800m and 1500 m at the Summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil. He was also the 800 metres gold medallist at the 2012 African Championships and the 2011 All-Africa Games. He has represented Algeria three times at the World Championships in Athletics. His personal bests are 1:42.61 for the 800 m, set at the Rio Olympics, and 3:28.75 for the 1500 metres. He trains with GS Pétroliers. Reda Abdalaati Iguider (; born 25 March 1987) is a Moroccan runner who specializes in the 1500 metres. Over 1500 metres, he is the bronze medalist from the London Olympic Games and the 2012 World Indoor Champion. His personal best of 3:28:79 over 1500 metres, run in Monaco during the Herculis Diamond League Meeting on July 17, 2015, makes him the eighth fastest man ever over that distance. Yomif Kejelcha Atomsa (born 1 August 1997) is an Ethiopian distance runner. He formerly held world records in the short track mile (3:47.01 from 2019 to 2025) and the half marathon (57:30 from 2024 to 2025). Yomif won the silver medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2019 World Athletics Championships and gold medals for the 3000 metres at the 2016 and 2018 World Indoor Championships. He was the 2013 World Youth 3000 m champion and 2014 World Junior 5000 m gold medallist. Early life Yomif was born on 1 August 1997 in Showa, Oromia, Ethiopia. Muktar Edris (born 14 January 1994) is an Ethiopian professional long-distance runner who competes in track and cross country races. He is a two-time World champion over 5000 metres. James Kiplagat Magut (born 20 July 1990) is a Kenyan from Nandi County Kosirai ward middle-distance runner who specialises in the 1500 metres. Robert Kiptoo Biwott (born 28 January 1996) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner. In 2013, he won the World Youth Championship at 1500 metres and the African Youth Championship at both 800 m and 1500 m. He won the 800 metres in his Diamond League debut in 2014. Filip Mangen Ingebrigtsen (born 20 April 1993) is a Norwegian middle-distance runner who represents Sandnes Idrettslag. In 2016, Ingebrigtsen became European Champion at 1500 meters during the European Championships in Amsterdam, and took bronze over the same distance at the World Championships in 2017 in London. Henrik Ingebrigtsen (born 24 February 1991) is a Norwegian middle-distance runner who competes mainly in the 1500 metres. He represented Norway at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics. A member of the Ingebrigtsen family, his younger brothers, Filip and Jakob, are also middle-distance runners.
