2015–16 Somali First Division
The 2015–16 Somali First Division is the 43rd season of top-tier football in Somalia. The season began on 28 December 2015 and concluded on 15 May 2016. Benadir SC was atop the table nearly the entire season to win their sixth league title. The league is comprised 10 teams, the bottom two of which - Sahafi and Mogadishu City - will be relegated to the 2016-17 Somali Second Division. Teams A total of 10 teams will contest the league, including eight sides from the 2014–15 season and two promoted from the 2014–15 Somali Second Division, Mogadishu City and Singjet FC. On the other hand, Somali Fruit and Savana FC were the last two teams of the 2014–15 season and will play in Second Division for the 2015-16 season. Heegan FC are the defending champions from the 2014–15 season. Somali First Division
The Somali First Division ( so, Heerka Koowaad ee Soomaali), Somali League, or Somali Premier League, is the Somali professional league for men's association football. It has been active for over 50 years, having been established in 1967. Somalia has 10 professional clubs playing for the Somali First Division. Football is the most popular sport in Somalia. In the 1930s, Italian Colonial Authorities established some of the first teams in Somalia. In the 2021-22 season, Horseed won the Somali First Division. 2016 CAF Champions League
The 2016 CAF Champions League (officially the 2016 Orange CAF Champions League for sponsorship reasons) was the 52nd edition of Africa's premier club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and the 20th edition under the current CAF Champions League format. 2016–17 Arab Club Championship
The 2017 Arab Club Championship was the 27th season of the Arab World's inter-club football tournament organised by UAFA, and the first season since it was renamed from the UAFA Club Cup to the Arab Club Championship. The competition was won by Tunisian club Espérance de Tunis, who defeated Jordanian side Al-Faisaly 3–2 after extra time in the final to secure a joint-record third title. The CECAFA Club Cup is a football club tournament organised by CECAFA. It has been known as the Kagame Interclub Cup since 2002, when Rwandan President Paul Kagame began sponsoring the competition. Horseed FC
Horseed FC is a Somali football club based in Mogadishu, Somalia. It was founded in 1971 by Lt. Col Mohamed Ahmed Alim, who started the Somali Armed Forces Sports Directorate recruiting from the ranks of the Army. It is seven times champion of the Somalia League. A team of Somali Armed Forces, Horseed SC was among the most formidable and recognized football clubs in the country. After the civil war broke out, it discontinued operations, but has been revived in 2013 by Gen Dahir Aden Elmi Commander of the Somalia Armed Forces. Gen Elmi revived all the different teams of Horseed Sports Club with emphasis on the Football Team which again began to compete in the Somalia Serie A league.
