2015–16 Mascom Top 8 Cup
The 2015–16 Mascom Top 8 Cup, also known as the Mascom Top 8 Season 5, was the fifth edition of the Mascom Top 8 Cup. It was played from 29 October 2015 to 23 April 2016 by the top eight teams from the 2014-15 Botswana Premier League. It was won by Orapa United. Gaborone United were the defending champions but were eliminated by BDF XI in the quarterfinals. Orapa United went on to win the tournament, making them the first ever northern team to win the Mascom Top 8 Cup. History The 2015–16 Mascom Top 8 Cup was the only domestic tournament played in Botswana since the FA Cup was not contested. The winner qualified to represent Botswana in the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup. This honour was won by Orapa United. Gaborone United Sporting Club (GU) is a football club from Botswana based in Gaborone. It is the only professional sporting club in Botswana. Its official sponsor is Bank Gaborone, who signed a three-year deal at the beginning of the 2022-23 season. It is run and owned partly by Soccer Dynamics. Madinda Ndlovu
Madinda Ndlovu (born 2 May 1965) is a Zimbabwean former footballer and manager currently in charge of Botswana Premier League club Gaborone United. He is generally considered one of the greatest Zimbabwean players of all time. After retiring Ndlovu began his managerial career as head coach of his boyhood club Highlanders in 1998. He first came to Botswana as the manager of Township Rollers in 2005 but lasted only two seasons before joining fellow Botswana Premier League club Nico United, helping them to a highest-ever league finish. Segolame Boy
Segolame Boy (born 7 November 1992) is a Motswana footballer who plays as a midfielder for Township Rollers in the Botswana Premier League. Segolame Boy was first spotted representing a Selibe-Phikwe local side in the constituency tournaments, the lowest level of Botswana football. Having impressed talent scouts, he was signed by Serowe-based club Miscellaneous and would spend two seasons with them plying his trade in the Botswana Premier League. In 2014 he moved to Premier League giants Township Rollers and quickly became a mainstay in their first eleven, even attracting attention from the more lucrative South African Premier Division.
