The 2015/16 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup was the thirty seventh FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup, World Cup season in freestyle skiing organised by International Ski Federation. The season started on 23 August 2015 and ended on 19 March 2016. This season included six disciplines: mogul skiing, moguls, aerial skiing, aerials, ski cross, halfpipe, slopestyle and big air. Mikaël Kingsbury
Mikaël Kingsbury (born July 24, 1992) is a Canadian freestyle skier. He is the most accomplished moguls and freestyle skier of all time. He achieved eminence early in his career after earning the 2009–10 FIS World Cup Rookie of the Year award. He is a 13-time FIS Freestyle World Cup title-holder for overall moguls and nine-time title-holder for overall freestyle, owning the records for most men's Moguls World Cup titles and Overall Freestyle World Cup titles. He also owns the records for career World Cup moguls victories with 99, and consecutive Freestyle World Cup event wins with 13. He is the first man to have won both the moguls and dual moguls World Championship events (sweeping the two events three times), and has won the most medals at the Freestyle World Championships of any male competitor in history, having won a medal in 15 of the 16 events he has competed in. Aerial Skiing
Aerial skiing or aerials is a freestyle skiing discipline where athletes ski down a slope to launch themselves off a kicker (a vertically inclined ramp) and perform multiple twists and flips before landing on an inclined landing hill. Aerialists are scored on their jumps based on air, form and landing with their score multiplied by the degree of difficulty of the jump they performed. Internationally, the sport is contested at the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup, FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships, and the Winter Olympic Games. Innichen (; ; , all tied to Saint Candidus) is a municipality and a village in South Tyrol in northern Italy. It is located in the Puster Valley on the Drava River, on Italy's border with Austria. Val Thorens
Val Thorens () is a ski town in the Tarentaise Valley in the French Alps at an altitude of . It is located in the commune of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville in the Savoie department. The resort forms part of the Les Trois Vallées ski area which, with over 600 km of slopes, is one of the largest linked ski areas in the world. Filip Flisar (born 28 September 1987) is a retired Slovenian freestyle skier who competed in ski cross discipline. Career Alpine skiing career Flisar started his career as an alpine skier in fast disciplines. Brady Leman
Brady Leman (born October 16, 1986) is a Canadian freestyle skier specializing in ski cross, and an Olympic champion in that discipline following his victory in the ski cross event at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Career He won the opening event in the 2011–12 season after returning from multiple injuries and then finished the year as the second overall ranked male ski cross racer for the year. Leman, a former alpine skier, is noted for his smooth gliding and crisp passing skills. He was part of a Canadian sweep of the medals at the 2010 Winter X Games, where he finished in third place. Brady Leman skis for Elan as well as the Lake Louise Ski Resort. He also won the 2016 X Games Skier X event. Christopher Del Bosco
Christopher Del Bosco (born March 30, 1982), is an American-born, Canadian freestyle skier who currently resides in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Del Bosco is a member of the Canadian national ski cross team. He is the reigning FIS World Champion and X Games champion in ski cross and has four other medals from the X Games including one gold, one silver, and two bronze. Del Bosco was a United States national champion prior to switching to the Canadian team. Career Del Bosco was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado but was raised in Vail, Colorado. Prior to joining the Canadian freestyle ski team, he had problems with substance and alcohol abuse that had led to him being stripped of two US national titles, and at age 21 was discovered drunk in a ditch with a broken neck. Montafon ( in local dialect: "''Muntafu''") is a long valley in the westernmost Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg. Big Air
Big air is a high-injury-risk sports discipline where the competitor rides a vehicle, such as a motocross motorcycle, a skateboard, a snowboard, or a pair of skis, down a hill or ramp and performs aerial tricks after launching off very large jumps. In most versions, there is one large jump and therefore only one opportunity to perform a trick. It is an extreme version of slopestyle. Competitors perform complex tricks in the air, aiming to attain sizable height and distance as well, all while making every effort to secure a clean landing. Many competitions also require the rider to do a specific trick to win the major prize. The term was coined by French-Canadians because of their love for the extreme nature of the event.
