2015–16 Eurocup Basketball
The 2015–16 Eurocup Basketball season was the 14th season of Euroleague Basketball's secondary level professional club basketball tournament, and the eighth season since it was renamed from the ULEB Cup to the Eurocup. The 2016 Eurocup Finals were played between Galatasaray Odeabank and SIG Strasbourg, and won by Galatasaray, which was their first title in a European-wide competition. As the winners of the 2015–16 Eurocup Basketball competition, Galatasaray qualified for the European top-tier level 2016–17 EuroLeague. 2014–15 Eurocup Basketball
The 2014–15 Eurocup Basketball season was the 13th edition of Europe's second-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs, the EuroCup. The EuroCup is the European-wide league level that is one level below the EuroLeague. Khimki won the competition, after beating Herbalife Gran Canaria in the Finals, and earned a spot in the regular season of the 2015–16 Euroleague. Competition format The competition format was the same as in the 2013–14 season, but reducing the Regular Season. For this year 36 teams joined this first stage and were divided into two conferences. The Regular Season featured six groups of six teams each one, where the four best teams qualified to the Last 32 stage with the eight teams that do not qualify to the 2014–15 Euroleague Top 16. Baskets Oldenburg, for sponsorship reasons EWE Baskets Oldenburg, is a professional basketball club that is based in the city of Oldenburg, Germany. The club plays in the Bundesliga. The club's name is derived from the team's main sponsor EWE AG, which is an electric utility company. The club's home arena is the Große EWE Arena. 2014–15 Lega Basket Serie A
The 2014–15 Lega Basket Serie A was the 93rd season of the Lega Basket Serie A, the highest professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season started on 12 October 2014 and finished on 10 May 2015, after all teams had played 30 games each. The eight best ranked teams advanced to the play-off phase whilst Pasta Reggia Caserta was relegated to the Serie A2 after finishing last in the league table. 2016–17 EuroLeague
The 2016–17 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague was the 17th season of the modern era of Euroleague Basketball and the seventh under the title sponsorship of the Turkish Airlines. Including the competition's previous incarnation as the FIBA Europe Champions Cup, this was the 60th season of the premier level competition for European men's professional basketball clubs. This was the first season in which the competition changed to a league format, with sixteen teams playing each other in a home-and-away round-robin competition. The 2016 Eurocup finals were the concluding two games of the 2015–16 Eurocup season, the 14th season of Europe's secondary club basketball tournament organised by Euroleague Basketball, and the eighth season since it was renamed from the ULEB Cup to the Eurocup. The first leg was played at the Rhénus Sport in Strasbourg, France, on 22 April 2016 and the second leg was played at the Abdi İpekçi Arena in Istanbul, Turkey, on 27 April 2016, between French side Strasbourg and Turkish side Galatasaray Odeabank. EuroCup Basketball
EuroCup Basketball, commonly known as the EuroCup and currently called BKT EuroCup for sponsorship reasons, is an annual professional basketball club competition organized by Euroleague Basketball. The league is regarded as Euroleague Basketball's second-tier professional basketball club tournament. Founded as ULEB Cup in 2002, the competition lasted until 2008 when a new competition was introduced after an agreement between ULEB and FIBA under the name of ''EuroCup'' for the 2008–09 Eurocup Basketball, 2008–09 season, following a change in format. European Professional Club Basketball System
Professional men's basketball clubs in Europe can compete in a number of different competitions, including national leagues, regional (multi-national) leagues, and continental competitions. It is therefore possible for clubs from some countries to take part in several levels of competition in the same season. Clubs usually qualify for European competitions through performance in their national or regional leagues, with the exception of wild cards. Joaquim "Quino" Colom Barrufet (born November 1, 1988) is a Spanish-Andorran former professional basketball player. Among other teams, Colom played for Fuenlabrada, UNICS Kazan and Bàsquet Girona. Professional career Colom played in the youth age categories with BC Andorra. He then played with Lleida Bàsquet, in the Spanish minor leagues, from 2003 to 2006.
