The 2015–16 season of the Regionalliga was the 57th season of the third-tier football league in Austria, since its establishment in 1959. Regionalliga Ost Regionalliga Mitte Regionalliga West No promotion play-offs Due to vacancies in the Austrian Football First League and SV Grödig's resignation from professionalism, the two-legged promotion play-offs were cancelled. Instead, WSG Wattens, champion of the Regionalliga West, and FC Blau-Weiß Linz, champion of the Regionalliga Mitte were promoted to fill those vacancies. Top scorers . The Austrian Regionalliga ( or plural , means Regional League) is the third-highest division in Austrian football, after the Austrian Bundesliga and the Second League. Wiener Sportklub
The Wiener Sport-Club, sometimes abbreviated as WSC, was established in 1883 in Vienna, Austria and is one of the country's oldest athletics clubs. Their traditional home is in the Dornbach quarter of the city ( 17th district). History At various times throughout its history the club has had departments for fencing, boxing, wrestling, cycling, handball, track and field, field hockey, tennis, squash, football and water polo. The football team enjoyed success in Austria National Championship in 1922, 1958 and 1959. Their 1958 season included an impressive 7–0 victory over Juventus in European Champions Cup. Two bankruptcies in the 1990s eventually led the team to slip into the lower leagues. SK Vorwärts Steyr is an Austrian association football club based in Steyr. It was founded in 1919. They play at the Vorwärts Stadium. Currently the club has about 500 members. The 2016–17 Austrian Football First League (German: ''Erste Liga'', also known as ''Sky Go Erste Liga'' due to sponsorship) was the 43rd season of the Austrian second-level football league. It began on 22 July 2016 and ended on 26 May 2017. The fixtures were announced on 17 June 2016. Teams Ten teams participate in the 2016-17 season.
