2015 Pittsburgh Panthers Baseball Team
The 2015 Pittsburgh Panthers baseball team represents the University of Pittsburgh during the 2015 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Panthers play their home games at Charles L. Cost Field as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They are led by head coach Joe Jordano, in his 18th season at Pittsburgh. Previous season In 2014, the Panthers finished the season 6th in the ACC's Coastal Division with a record of 22–30, 11–19 in conference play. They failed to qualify for the 2014 Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament or the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. Joe Jordano
Joe Jordano is an American college baseball coach and former collegiate baseball player. He most recently served as head coach of the Pittsburgh Panthers baseball team. He held that position from 1998 season to 2018. Prior to his tenure at Pitt, Jordano was the head coach at Mercyhurst College. Jordano led the Lakers to unprecedented success and left as the winningest coach in Laker history. Upon his departure from Pitt, Jordano earned more wins (588) than any coach, in any sport in Pitt history. His teams re-wrote the Panther Baseball Record Books and had over 70 plus players go on to play professional baseball. Currently, Jordano is the head coach of the National Team/Black at the world-renowned IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Davenport Field at Disharoon Park is a baseball stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia. It is the home field of the University of Virginia Cavaliers college baseball team. The stadium has a capacity of 5,074 and opened in 2002. The field is named after former Virginia Student Aid Foundation executive director Ted Davenport, and the stadium is named after Les and Ann Disharoon. The 2015 Virginia Cavaliers baseball team represented the University of Virginia during the 2015 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Cavaliers played their home games at Davenport Field as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. They were led by head coach Brian O'Connor, in his 12th season at Virginia. 2015 was a tough regular season for the 2014 NCAA runner-up. The Cavaliers slogged through a disappointing and injury-filled regular season. By winning 5 of its last 6 ACC games, the Cavs managed to cobble together a .500 ACC record, qualifying them for a play in game at the ACC tournament. At the tournament they won the play in game against Georgia Tech and then promptly lost the last three games. The Diamond (Richmond, Virginia)
The Diamond is a baseball stadium located in Richmond, Virginia, USA, on Arthur Ashe Boulevard. It is the home of Richmond Flying Squirrels of the Eastern League and the Virginia Commonwealth University baseball team. From 1985 to 2008, it was the home of the Richmond Braves, the Triple-A minor league baseball affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The Diamond seats 12,134 people for baseball; however, for Flying Squirrels games, advertising banners cover up the top rows of the upper deck, reducing seating capacity to 9,560. 2015 VCU Rams Baseball Team
The 2015 VCU Rams baseball team was the program's 45th season fielding a varsity baseball program, and their third season the Atlantic 10 Conference. Led by Shawn Stiffler for his third season, the Rams had their most successful baseball season in program history. The Rams advanced to the NCAA Super Regional for the first time ever, and won their first ever Atlantic 10 Conference baseball tournament.
