2015 New York Film Festival
The 53rd New York Film Festival was held September 25 – October 11, 2015. The lineup consisted of seven sections: * Main Slate (26 films and four shorts programs) * Spotlight on Documentary (11 films and one shorts program) * Projections (14 programs) * Special Events (10 films) * Revivals (11 films) * Nathaniel Dorsky & Jerome Hiler Retrospective (12 programs) * Convergence (transmedia presentations and talks) The Festival also included various talks and free screenings. The primary selection committee included Kent Jones (chair), Dennis Lim, Marian Masone, Gavin Smith, and Amy Taubin. The Shorts Programs were selected by Sarah Mankoff, Laura Kern, Matt Bolish, Florence Almozini, and Dan Sullivan. Projections was programmed by Dennis Lim, Aily Nash, and Gavin Smith. New York Film Festival
The New York Film Festival (NYFF) is a film festival held every fall in New York City, presented by Film at Lincoln Center. Founded in 1963 by Richard Roud and Amos Vogel with the support of Lincoln Center president William Schuman, NYFF is one of the longest-running and most prestigious film festivals in the United States. It is a non-competitive festival centered on a "Main Slate" of typically 20–30 feature films, with additional sections for experimental cinema and new restorations. Hou Hsiao-hsien ( zh, t=侯孝賢, poj=Hâu Hàu-hiân; born 8 April 1947) is a retired Mainland Chinese-born Taiwanese film director, screenwriter, producer and actor. He is a leading figure in world cinema and in Taiwan's New Wave cinema movement. ''The Assassin'' () is a 2015 wuxia film co-written and directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien. ''Miles Ahead'' is a 2015 American biographical-drama film directed by Don Cheadle in his feature directorial debut, which Cheadle co-wrote with Steven Baigelman, Stephen J.
