2015 Mayo Senior Football Championship
The 2015 Mayo Senior Football Championship was the 114th edition of the Mayo GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Mayo, Ireland. The tournament consists of 16 teams, with the winner going on to represent Mayo in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. Ballintubber were the defending champions after they defeated Castlebar Mitchels in the previous years final, however they lost their crown at the Semi-Final stage, being defeated by Breaffy. This was Ballyhaunis' first return to the senior grade in over 20 years after claiming the Mayo Intermediate Football Championship title, 26 years after they won their last Intermediate crown in 1988. On 26 October 2015, Castlebar Mitchels claimed their 29th S.F.C. title when defeating Breaffy 4-10 to 0-9 in McHale Park. The Mayo Senior Football Championship (currently known for sponsorship reasons as the ''Connacht Gold Mayo Senior Football Championship'') is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by the top Mayo GAA clubs. Westport are the title holders (2022) defeating Ballina Stephenites in the Final. Honours The trophy presented to the winners is the Paddy Moclair Cup, which was first presented for the 1971 final. The winners of the Mayo Senior Championship qualify to represent their county in the Connacht Senior Club Football Championship. County Mayo (; ga, Contae Mhaigh Eo, meaning "Plain of the yew trees") is a county in Ireland. Pearse Park (Longford)
Pearse Park is a GAA stadium in Longford, County Longford, Republic of Ireland. It is the main grounds of Longford's Gaelic football and hurling teams. In 2012, the stadium was renamed Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, due to sponsorship with Glennon Brothers, a local timber firm. The ground originally had a capacity of 18,000, however in November 2011, this was cut to 8,000 for health and safety reasons. History The grounds were formerly named Longford Park.
