2015 KBL Draft
The 2015 Korean Basketball League rookie draft (Korean: 2015 KBL 국내신인선수 드래프트) was held on October 26, 2017, at the Jamsil Students' Gymnasium in Seoul, South Korea. Out of the 34 participants, 22 players were drafted. In September, the KBL released the list of participants. On October 26, the draft day itself, a try-out was held in the morning and the picks took place in the evening. Goyang Orion Orions traded its highest-drawn first round pick to Changwon LG Sakers in exchange for Moon Tae-jong, hence LG being able to obtain two first round picks. Draft selections ''This table only shows the first twenty picks.'' Players Future MVP Song Kyo-chang was the only high school senior picked in the draft. The third overall pick, he was the first high school senior to be picked so early in the history of the KBL draft since Korean-American Han Sang-woong (Richard Han) in 2005. Jamsil Students' Gymnasium
Jamsil Students' Gymnasium () is an indoor arena, indoor sporting arena located in Seoul, South Korea. The capacity of the arena is 7,500 and was built from November 1972 to December 1976 to host Boxing at the 1988 Summer Olympics, Boxing events at the 1986 Asian Games and 2-years later the same sport on the 1988 Summer Olympics, and wheelchair basketball events at the 1988 Summer Paralympics. The arena's name is derived from the fact that it owned by the Korea University Sports Federation, and usually host university sports events, most notably the annual MBC Cup for college basketball teams. KBL Defensive Player Of The Year
The Korean Basketball League Defensive Player of the Year Award () is an annual Korean Basketball League (KBL) award given to the best defensive player during the regular season. The awardee is selected from players voted into the Defensive Best 5 () team. In addition to contributing to their team's overall defensive record, selected players must accumulate high averages in the following statistical categories: blocks, steals and defensive rebounds. Sangmyung University () is a private university in South Korea with the main campus in Jongno District, Jongno, Seoul, and an auxiliary campus in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do. Seoul Samsung Thunders () is a professional basketball team, competing in the Korean Basketball League. Ever since the club was founded in 1978, they have been associated with Samsung Electronics. Suwon KT Sonicboom () is a professional basketball club based in Suwon, South Korea which plays in the Korean Basketball League. Their home games are played at the Suwon KT Sonicboom Arena. Song Kyo-chang
Song Kyo-chang (born 3 July 1996) is a South Korean professional basketball player. He currently plays for Busan KCC Egis in the Korean Basketball League and the South Korean national team. Early life Song was introduced to basketball in elementary school but preferred baseball as his lack of height was considered a disadvantage. By the time he entered middle school, he had grown much taller than his peers, prompting him to switch back to basketball. He graduated from Samil Commercial High School in Suwon.
