2015 Indy Lights Season
The 2015 Indy Lights season was the 30th season of the Indy Lights open wheel motor racing series and the 14th sanctioned by IndyCar, acting as the primary support series for the IndyCar Series. The 2015 season was the second promoted by Andersen Promotions, who also promote the other steps on the Mazda Road to Indy. It was the first season for the Dallara IL-15 along with a Mazda MZR-R turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, developed by Advanced Engine Research. 2015 was the second season with Cooper Tire as the sole tire supplier. The championship was contested over 16 races, starting on March 28 at St. Petersburg, Florida and ending on September 13 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Indy Lights
Indy NXT (pronounced "Indy Next"), previously Indy Lights, is an American developmental automobile racing series sanctioned by IndyCar, currently known as INDY NXT by Firestone for sponsorship reasons. Indy NXT is the highest step on the Road to Indy, a program of racing series leading up to the IndyCar Series. A similar series named Indy Lights filled the developmental role for the CART series, and ran from 1986 to 1993 as the American Racing Series and Dayton Indy Lights from 1991 to 2001. The current IndyCar sanctioned series was founded in 2002 as the Infiniti Pro Series as a way to introduce new talent to IndyCar, with the moniker Indy Lights returning in 2008 when CART and IndyCar unified. Dallara Group S.r.l. is the largest multi-national Italian race car manufacturer, founded by its current President, Giampaolo Dallara. Juan Piedrahita
Juan Diego Piedrahita Cortes (Bogotá, July 27, 1992) is a Colombian racing driver. Piedrahita began his driving career aged seven, karting in Mexico. Piedrahita transitioned to auto racing in 2009 competing in the LATAM Challenge Series where he gained 2 podiums, finished 7th in overall points and 2nd in the rookie standings. In 2010 Piedrahita competed in Star Mazda Championship for Team Apex where he competed in eight of the thirteen races and collected one top 5 and four top 10 finish. In 2011 he is competing in the U.S. F2000 National Championship for JDC MotorSports as part of the Road to Indy. Félix Juan Serrallés IV (born June 24, 1992) is a Puerto Rican racing driver. After gathering two second-place finishes in the Caribbean Karting Championship, Serrallés joined the Skip Barber National Championship and finished third. Afterwards, he was recruited by Fortec Motorsport and moved to Europe, where he debuted in the Formula Renault. Belardi Auto Racing was an American racing team in the Indy Lights series. The team was owned by Brian Belardi, who competed in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). Belardi was previously located in Illinois before moving to Brownsburg, Indiana. Sean Rayhall (born March 10, 1995) is a racing driver. He competed in the LMP3 class of the European Le Mans Series, winning the championship in 2017.
