Star! Scandinavia
Star! Scandinavia was a television channel in northern Europe that is devoted to entertainment and celebrity news and programming. The channel was managed by Scandinavian television broadcaster NonStop Television, part of Turner Broadcasting. The channel was fashioned after Star! (a former Canadian entertainment channel now branded as E!, after the U.S.-based channel of the same namesake) and is licensed from Bell Media (previously CTVglobemedia and CHUM Limited). Programming is a mix of several Bell Media television channels such as E!, FashionTelevisionChannel, MuchMore and others. American entertainment news program Showbiz Tonight from HLN is shown several times a day on the channel. Star! Silver (TV Channel)
Silver was a movie television channel broadcasting to the Nordic countries broadcasting quality movies, " World cinema" and independent films. The channel was managed by Scandinavian television broadcaster NonStop Television, part of Turner Broadcasting. The owners NonStop Television applied for a license to broadcast a channel with the working name "NonStop Filmfestival" in the Swedish digital terrestrial network in the autumn of 2005. The government gave the channel a license in February 2006, at the expense of the owner's other movie channel, Showtime Scandinavia. NonStop Filmfestival had to launch before the end of May and Showtime was allowed to continue broadcasting until the new channel started. NonStop Filmfestival was named "Silver" in April and could start broadcasting on May 26, 2006, during the Cannes Film Festival. Showtime Scandinavia
Showtime Scandinavia (generally referred to simply as ''Showtime'') was a television channel broadcasting action movies to the Nordic countries operated by NonStop Television. Its name and logo was licensed by Showtime Networks Inc., owners of the American Showtime. The two channels however do not share any programme content. Showtime Scandinavia was closed on 15 July 2015. In September 2022, Showtime reentered the Scandinavian market with the introduction of SkyShowtime. History NonStop Television received a license for a channel with the working title ''NonStop Film'' in January 2004 when the government awarded new licenses for the terrestrial network (DTT). Canal 8 Sport
CANAL8 Sport was a Danish television channel owned by TV4 Group and C More Entertainment. The channel was announced on July 3, 2012. The channel replaced Canal+ Sport 1 in Denmark. The reason for this is that after Canal+ lost the rights to the Premier League in 2010, they have a hard time keeping the subscribers in Denmark to their premium sports package. And thus it was decided to move the most popular sport with Danish viewer interest from a high pay channel to an advertising financing low pay channel. the channel is first of all a football channel and show matches from Danish Superliga, UEFA Europa League, La Liga, Serie A and Eredivisie and other sports like UFC fighting, ATP Tennis, Indycar Racing and Swedish Hockey League. C More Kids was a Scandinavian premium television channel showing family movies and programs from CBeebies CBeebies is a British free-to-air Public service broadcasting in the United Kingdom, public broadcast children's television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It is also the brand used for all BBC content targeted for children aged six year .... The channel was closed 1 February 2015. The content previously shown on the channel is available in the C More Play on demand streaming library. TV 2 Film
TV 2 Film was a 24-hour two-star movie channel owned by TV 2. It was launched on November 1, 2005, at 9 p.m. First to air was the Danish feature film '' The Green Butchers''. The channel mostly shows American two-star movies. Each movie is shown many times over the course of several days. In August 2008, the channel started broadcasting in the widescreen format. This was followed by the launch of a high-definition simulcast of the channel on January 1, 2009. The channel was developed from a film strand on TV 2 called ''"en go' film uden afbrydelser"'' ("A good movie without interruptions"). Initially, the channel carried advertising between the films, but this practise was discontinued in 2007 as the advertising sales had remained modest. Voice – Danmarks Største Stemme
''Voice – Danmarks største stemme'' is a Danish reality singing competition, based on the original Dutch television program '' The Voice of Holland''. It started on November 26, 2011, and is currently airing on TV2. One of the important premises of the show is the quality of the singing talent. Four coaches, themselves popular performing artists, train the talents in their group and occasionally perform with them. Talents are selected in blind auditions, where the coaches cannot see, but only hear the auditioner. The show was canceled after two seasons in order to make way for a kids' version, known as ''Voice Junior''. Format The series consists of three phases: a blind audition, a battle phase, and live performance shows. Four judges/coaches, all noteworthy recording artists, choose teams of contestants through a blind audition process. Each judge has the length of the auditioner's performance (about one minute) to decide if he or she wants that singer on his or her team; ... Television In Denmark
Television in Denmark was established in the 1950s and was run by a monopoly with only one channel available until the 1980s. History The first television broadcasts in Denmark started on 2 October 1951. These were carried out by the national radio broadcaster Statsradiofonien and consisted of a one-hour broadcast three times per week. The broadcasts were initially limited to a few hundred homes in the capital area. Daily broadcasts started in 1954. With the opening of the Gladsaxe transmitter, most of Zealand could watch television. The entire country was covered in 1960 when the transmitter on Bornholm opened. Statsradiofonien was renamed Danmarks Radio (DR) in 1959. The first news programme, TV-Avisen, started in 1965. Colour television started test transmissions in 1967, with colour television becoming the norm in filming and broadcasting from 1970 on. Vild Med Dans
''Vild med dans'' is the Danish version of the British reality TV competition ''Strictly Come Dancing'' and is part of the ''Dancing with the Stars'' franchise. It is shown on TV 2 in Denmark. Seasons 1 and 2 were co-hosted by Andrea Elisabeth Rudolph and Peter Hansen. Rudolph and Hansen were replaced in season 3 by Christine Lorentzen and Claus Elming. Rudolph returned to take Lorentzen's place as co-host from seasons 4 to 6. Season 7, 8 and 9 saw Christiane Schaumburg-Müller take Rudolph's place as Elming's co-host. Since season 10, Elming has co-hosted with Sarah Grünewald. The original judges were Britt Bendixen, Jens Werner, Anne Laxholm and Kim Dahl . Dahl was replaced by Thomas Evers Poulsen, who is currently the only person to appear on the show as both a professional and judge. Allan Tornsberg took Poulsen's place as the fourth judge from seasons 3 through 7. Nikolaj Hübbe joined the panel as a replacement for Tornsberg in season 8 and has remained there since. T ...
