2015 Gibraltar Darts Trophy
The 2015 Gibraltar Darts Trophy was the second of nine PDC European Tour events on the 2015 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Victoria Stadium, Gibraltar, between 20 and 22 March 2015. It featured a field of 48 players and £115,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. The defending champion was James Wade, having beaten Steve Beaton 6–4 in the previous year's final, but he was defeated in the semi-finals after losing 6–2 to Terry Jenkins, who then lost the final 6–3 to Michael van Gerwen. Prize money The prize fund was increased to £115,000 after being £100,000 for the previous two years. Qualification and format The top 16 players from thPDC ProTour Order of Merit on the 16 January 2015 automatically qualified for the event. Victoria Stadium (Gibraltar)
Victoria Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Gibraltar. It is currently used mostly for Association football, football matches, but also hosts the annual Gibraltar Music Festival. It is located close to Gibraltar Airport just off Winston Churchill Avenue, Gibraltar, Winston Churchill Avenue. Peter Stuart Wright (born 10 March 1970) is a Scottish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked PDC Order of Merit, world number fourteen; he was ranked world number one on two occasions in 2022. Wesley Newton (born 27 August 1977) is an English professional darts player. Darts career Newton's first PDC major was the 2003 UK Open where he lost 8–6 to Mark Thomson in the last 32. He was beaten in the semi-finals of the Eastbourne Open in 2003 and 2004 and reached the first final of his career at the Golden Harvest North American Cup, but lost 4–0 to John Part. Brian Woods (born 9 November 1966) is a former English professional darts player. He used the nickname Pecker for his matches. Career Woods has competed on the BDO/ WDF circuit for several years. He won the National Singles title 2003 and the Isle of Man Open title in 2005. He has also reached the semi-finals of the English Open in 2003, the Welsh Masters in 2007 and the British Open in 2007. Andy Jenkins
Andrew Jenkins (born 11 March 1971) is an English former professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He was nicknamed "Rocky" due to his rough personality. Jenkins has reached high rankings in the PDC, but has never won a major tournament. In 2009, Jenkins was given a PDC ban for almost two years for an assault on Terry Jenkins during a non-televised PDC tournament. Kevin McDine (born 23 May 1985) is an English professional darts player currently residing in Wallsend. Career In November 2004, McDine reached the last 16 of the JR & Vauxhall Holiday Park 128 Plus Classic. Stephen Bunting (born 9 April 1985) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number four. Kim Huybrechts (born 16 November 1985) is a Belgian professional darts player competing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Vincent van der Voort (born 18 December 1975) is a Dutch former professional darts player who played in British Darts Organisation (BDO) then Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is nicknamed the "Dutch Destroyer", although he used to go by "Grease Lightning". Justin Pipe (born 9 November 1971) is an English former professional darts player who competed in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won six PDC titles. Playing career Pipe was a Boxing, boxer in his youth, and, as a staunch anti-smoker, he refused to play darts in local pubs as the cigarette smoke would make his eyes water.
