2015 Constellation Cup
The 2015 Constellation Cup was the 6th Constellation Cup series played between Australia and New Zealand. The series, also known as the New World Netball Series, featured four netball test matches, played in October 2015. The Australia team was coached by Lisa Alexander and captained by Laura Geitz. New Zealand were coached by Waimarama Taumaunu and captained by Casey Kopua. Australia won the first two tests and led 2–0 going into the third test. However, New Zealand won the third and fourth tests to level the series at 2–2. Australia were declared the winners because, having scored 202 goals compared to New Zealand's 200, they had a better aggregate score over the series. Caitlin Bassett
Caitlin Bassett (born 23 May 1988) is a former Australian netballer, who played for Giants Netball and the Australia national netball team. Between 2017 and 2021 Bassett captained Australia in international netball tests. Career Caitlin played in the West Australian Netball League with Demons. Bassett played West Coast Fever from 2005 to 2016, before joining expansion side Sunshine Coast Lightning at the start of the 2017 season in the Suncorp Super Netball league. Bassett previously played for the Perth Orioles in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy from 2005 to 2007. In 2008, she played for one half of a game as a member of the Australian Diamonds team. In 2011 Bassett was part of the 2011 World Championship winning Australian Diamonds Team, featuring in the final against New Zealand. Queensland Firebirds
Queensland Firebirds are an Australian netball team based in Brisbane, Queensland. Since 2017 they have played in Suncorp Super Netball. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship and between 1997 and 2007, they played in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy. Firebirds were the most successful team during the ANZ Championship era, playing in five grand finals and winning three premierships, in 2011, 2015 and 2016. Melbourne Vixens
Melbourne Vixens is an Australian netball team based in Melbourne, Victoria. Since 2017 they have represented Netball Victoria in Suncorp Super Netball. Between 2008 and 2016, they played in the ANZ Championship. The team was formed in 2007 when Netball Victoria merged its two former Commonwealth Bank Trophy league teams, Melbourne Phoenix and Melbourne Kestrels. Jo Weston
Joanna Weston (born 14 February 1994) is an Australian netball player for the Australian Diamonds and Melbourne Vixens in the Suncorp Super Netball league. She was part of the Diamonds side that won silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Weston has been a member of the Diamonds squad since her debut at the Constellation Cup in 2015. She was also in the Australian team at the 2019 Netball World Cup, finishing runners up to New Zealand. Weston was named ''Goal Defender of the Year'' and ''Player of the Finals'' in the 2017 Suncorp Super Netball season. She was in the Vixens side that won the premiership in the 2022 season. Gretel Tippett
Gretel Bueta (née Tippett; born 3 July 1993) is an Australian netball player and former basketball player. Basketball Bueta played for the Australian Institute of Sport in the Women's National Basketball League during the 2010/2011 season. She played half the season with the Logan Thunder in the 2011/2012 season and was named Rookie of the Year for WNBL in 2011 before pulling out due to glandular fever. Caitlin Thwaites
Caitlin Thwaites (born 29 December 1986) is a former Australian netball player and volleyballer. Career Caitlin Thwaites was born in Bendigo, Australia. Thwaites began her career at for the Melbourne Kestrels of the Commonwealth Bank Trophy at the age of 16. However, once the ANZ Championship was founded in 2008 she moved to the Melbourne Vixens. Thwaites played for the Vixens from 2008 to 2010 and was part of the 2009 premiership team which defeated the Adelaide Thunderbirds. In 2011 she joined New Zealand-based ANZ Championship side the Central Pulse. In 2012 Thwaites made her international debut for the Australian Diamonds. Gabi Simpson
Gabrielle Simpson (born 17 October 1992), also known as Gabi Simpson, is an Australia netball international. Simpson was vice-captain of the Australia team that won the silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Simpson was also a member of the Queensland Firebirds teams that won the 2015 and 2016 ANZ Championships. Since 2017, Simpson has captained Firebirds in Suncorp Super Netball. Kim Ravaillion
Kimberley Ravaillion (born 26 July 1993), is an Australia netball international. Ravaillion was a member of the Australia teams that won the gold medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 Netball World Cup and the silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Natalie Medhurst
Natalie Medhurst (born 20 January 1984) is a retired Australian international netball player. As well as playing for several clubs in Australia's domestic competitions, she also made multiple appearances for the Australian Diamonds in various international competitions and tests. Clare McMeniman
Clare McMeniman (born 11 July 1985), also known as Clare Ferguson, is a former Australia netball international. She captained Australia when they won the 2016 Netball Quad Series and the 2016 Constellation Cup. McMeniman was also a member of the Queensland Firebirds teams that won the 2011, 2015 and 2016 ANZ Championships. Early life, family and education McMeniman was raised in Warwick, Queensland. April Letton
April Brandley (née Letton; born 19 April 1990) is a professional Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league. She plays in the positions of GK, GD and WD, and has been selected on several occasions for the Australia national netball team. Career Domestic Brandley was a temporary replacement player for the Queensland Firebirds in 2011 and played for the New South Wales Swifts in 2012. At the end of the 2014 ANZ Championship season, Brandley signed with the Perth-based West Coast Fever for two seasons. Since 2017 she has played for the Collingwood Magpies. Sharni Norder (née Layton; born 6 January 1988) is a retired Australian sportsperson, known for her top level careers in netball and Australian rules football. Over fifteen years Norder played for six netball clubs in multiple elite competitions, and was a dual premiership player for the Adelaide Thunderbirds. She earned 46 caps for the Australia national netball team, won two gold medals at the Netball World Cup and one gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, and was captain of the team in 2017.
