Christiaan Bezuidenhout
Christiaan Bezuidenhout (; born 18 May 1994) is a South African professional golfer who is a three-time winner on the European Tour. He won the 2019 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters and, in consecutive weeks, the 2020 Alfred Dunhill Championship and 2020 South African Open. Amateur career As an amateur, Bezuidenhout received a drug suspension after testing positive for beta blockers at the 2014 Amateur Championship. Bezuidenhout was using them for anxiety and a stutter after an accidental poisoning at the age of two. The suspension was originally for two years but was later reduced to nine months. Professional career Bezuidenhout turned professional in early 2015. He had success in September 2015 winning two 36-hole events on the Big Easy Tour, losing in a playoff for the Big Easy Tour Championship and also winning the Order of Merit. Big Easy Tour
The Big Easy Tour, currently titled as the Betway Big Easy Tour, is a developmental golf tour based in South Africa, founded in 2011. It is a developmental tour for the Sunshine Tour. The top 12 players earn Sunshine Tour cards, with those 11th–30th earning entry into the final stage of Sunshine Tour qualifying school. The tour is named after the nickname of South African golfer Ernie Els. In 2017, three tournaments were co-sanctioned with the MENA Golf Tour. From the start of 2018, tournaments attracted Official World Golf Ranking points. Winners initially received a minimum of 3 points for 54-hole tournaments and 5 points for 72-hole tournaments. Order of Merit winners Sunshine Development Tour In March 2025, the Sunshine Tour announced the formation of the Sunshine Development Tour, a formation of tournaments to be played in Kenya and East Africa. Sunshine Tour
The Sunshine Tour is a men's professional golf tour based in Southern and East Africa. For much of its early history it was known either as the Southern Africa Tour or Sunshine Circuit; through sponsorship deals, it has also been known as the FNB Tour and the Vodacom Tour. For the 2000–01 season the tour rebranded itself as the ''Sunshine Tour'' in an attempt to broaden its appeal. A large majority of the tour events are still staged in South Africa. The tour is one of the six leading men's tours which before 2009 made up the membership of the International Federation of PGA Tours, but it offers much less prize money than some of the leading tours, and leading Southern African golfers traditionally prefer to play on the PGA Tour or the European Tour if they can qualify to do so, typically returning to play in Sunshine Tour events a couple of times a year. Gert Benjamin Myburgh (13 January 1940 – 11 March 1996) was a South African lawyer and politician from the Eastern Cape. He served as Deputy Minister of Justice from January 1995 until his death in March 1996. He had formerly served as Deputy Minister of Law and Order from 1992 to 1994 and was a long-serving representative of the National Party (NP) in Parliament. A lawyer by profession, Myburgh first served in Parliament from 1977 to 1981 as the representative for East London. He returned to the House of Assembly to represent a Port Elizabeth constituency from 1987 to 1994, and during that time he was appointed to F. W. de Klerk's government as Deputy Minister of Law and Order.
