2015 ASB Classic
The 2015 ASB Classic was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 30th edition of the ASB Classic, and part of the WTA International tournaments category of the 2015 WTA Tour. It took place at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, from 5 January until 10 January 2015. Third-seeded Venus Williams won the singles title. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International tournaments was a category for tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. As of 2021 these events have been reclassified as WTA 250 tournaments. The winner of a WTA 250 tournament adds 250 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2025 WTA Tour, 2025 season, there were 20 WTA 250, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,094. Monica Puig
Monica Puig Marchán (born September 27, 1993) is a Puerto Rican former professional tennis player. She is the first Puerto Rican in history to win a gold medal at the Olympics while representing Puerto Rico, having done so in 2016 at the women's singles event. She is also a Central American and Caribbean champion and Pan American silver medalist. Having turned professional in 2010, Puig won two WTA Tour singles titles and six ITF singles titles. On 26 September 2016, she reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 27. On 25 May 2015, she peaked at No. 210 in the doubles rankings. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Puig won the gold medal, the ninth overall medal at the Games for Puerto Rico. Marina Erakovic
Marina Erakovic ( ; ; born 6 March 1988) is a former tennis player from New Zealand. She achieved career-high rankings of 39 in singles and 25 in doubles, and won a singles title at Memphis in February 2013, and eight doubles titles on the WTA Tour. Personal life Born in Split, Croatia (then part of Yugoslavia), Erakovic emigrated with her family to Auckland, New Zealand, in 1994 at the age of six. Katherine Westbury
Katherine "Kat" Westbury (; born 14 March 1993) is an inactive Thai-New Zealand tennis player. She reached her best singles ranking of world No. 576 on 3 October 2011, and made her WTA Tour debut at the 2015 Auckland Open. Westbury has two brothers. Aged three she moved to Bangkok, Thailand with her parents where she attended pre-school and primary school. Westbury began playing tennis at the age of 6 at the British Club in Bangkok. Her family returned to New Zealand two years later, settling in Christchurch, where she attended Burnside Primary School and Cobham Intermediate School, while also playing on the Canterbury Tennis Regional Squad under coach Glenn Wilson. Anna-Lena Grönefeld
Anna-Lena Grönefeld (also spelled Groenefeld; married name Herzgerodt; born 4 June 1985) is a German former professional tennis player. Competing as a professional from 2003 until 2019, she won one singles title on the WTA Tour, at the 2006 Mexican Open, and reached the quarterfinals of the 2006 French Open. She is a two-time Grand Slam champion in mixed doubles, having won the 2009 Wimbledon Championships alongside Mark Knowles, and the 2014 French Open with Jean-Julien Rojer. Grönefeld also finished runner-up in mixed doubles at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships and 2017 French Open. A former top-ten singles player, she was ranked as high as No. 9 in the world on 20 August 2018, and was ranked inside the top 15 in doubles, peaking at world No. 12 on 22 August 2016. Lucie Hradecká
Lucie Hradecká (; born 21 May 1985) is a Czech former professional tennis player. A three-time Grand Slam doubles champion and 26-time WTA Tour doubles titlist, she reached her career-high doubles ranking of world No. 4 in October 2012.
