2014–15 Football League Trophy
The 2014–15 Football League Trophy, was the 34th season in the history of the competition. It is a knock-out tournament for English football clubs in League One and League Two, the third and fourth tiers of the English football. In all, 48 clubs entered the competition. It was split into two sections, Northern and Southern, with the winners of each section contesting the final at Wembley Stadium. Peterborough United were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the first round by Leyton Orient. Bristol City of League One won the competition for a record third time, defeating rival League One side Walsall by 2–0 in the final at Wembley. Peterborough United F
Peterborough ( ) is a cathedral city in the City of Peterborough district in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England. The city is north of London, on the River Nene. As of the 2021 census, Peterborough had a population of 192,178, while the population of the district was 215,673. Human settlement in the area began before the Bronze Age, as can be seen at the Flag Fen archaeological site to the east of the city centre. There is evidence of Roman occupation. Deepdale
Deepdale is a football stadium in the Deepdale area of Preston, England that is the home ground of Preston North End. Built in 1875 and in use since 1878, Deepdale is recognised as being one of the oldest continuously used football stadiums in the world, although the club's claim that it is the oldest is contested. Crewe () is a railway town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. Accrington
Accrington is a town in the Hyndburn borough of Lancashire, England. It lies about east of Blackburn, west of Burnley, east of Preston, north of Manchester and is situated on the culverted River Hyndburn. The Crown Ground is a multi-use stadium in Accrington, Lancashire, England. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Accrington Stanley. Opened in 1968, the stadium has a capacity of 5,450. Stands/terraces *Jack Barret Memorial Stand: this stand is the newest stand. Billy Paynter
William Paul Paynter (born 13 July 1984) is an English football manager and former footballer who was most recently the manager of club Connah's Quay Nomads. In a 17-year professional career in the English Football League, he played as a striker and scored 131 goals in 529 league and cup appearances. Born in Liverpool, Paynter started his career with Port Vale in 2000 and made over 150 appearances in his six years with the club, being voted Player of the Year in 2005. He was sold to Hull City in January 2006 before moving on to Southend United eight months later. Kyle Michael Dempsey (born 17 September 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Bolton Wanderers. Early life Dempsey was born in Whitehaven, Cumbria. Antony Thomas Sweeney (born 5 September 1983) is an English professional football coach and former player. Marcus Carver (born 22 October 1993) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Bradford (Park Avenue). Career Carver was born in Blackburn, Lancashire, England. Carlisle ( , ; from ) is a city in the Cumberland district of Cumbria, England. Carlisle's early history is marked by the establishment of a settlement called Luguvalium to serve forts along Hadrian's Wall in Roman Britain.
