The 2014–15 Chicago Bulls season was the franchise's 49th season in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and fifth under head coach Tom Thibodeau. In the off-season, the Bulls let Carlos Boozer go and signed Pau Gasol. Chicago had its first 50-win season since the 2011–12 season with a record of 50–32. Seeded number three in the playoffs, the Bulls met the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round and defeated them, 4–2. Thomas Joseph Thibodeau Jr. ( ; born January 17, 1958) is an American basketball coach who is the head coach for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He served as an assistant coach for the United States men's national basketball team from 2013 to 2016, and helped Team USA win a gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games. The New Mexico Lobos men's basketball team represents the University of New Mexico, competing in the Mountain West Conference (MWC) in NCAA Division I.
