2014 Tour Of Flanders
The 2014 Tour of Flanders was the 98th edition of the Tour of Flanders single-day Monument classics. It was held on 6 April 2014 over a distance of from Bruges to Oudenaarde. In a four-rider sprint finish, Swiss rider Fabian Cancellara won the race for a record-equalling third time – and for the second year in succession – ahead of Belgian trio Greg Van Avermaet, Sep Vanmarcke and Stijn Vandenbergh. 2014 UCI World Tour
The 2014 UCI World Tour was the sixth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The series started with the opening stage of the 2014 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 21 January, and concluded with the final stage of the 2014 Tour of Beijing, Tour of Beijing on 14 October. After winning the 2008 UCI ProTour, Spain's Alejandro Valverde won his first World Tour individual points title, amassing 686 points over the course of the season. The rider finished 66 points clear of his closest rival and compatriot Alberto Contador of , while Australian rider Simon Gerrans was third for the team, but was over 200 points in arrears of Valverde. Björn Leukemans (born 1 July 1977 in Deurne) is a Belgian former professional road bicycle racer. During 2008, Leukemans was suspended for doping with artificial testosterone. UCI ProTour
The UCI ProTour was a series of road bicycle racing, road bicycle races in Europe, Australia and Canada organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale, UCI (International Cycling Union). Created by Hein Verbruggen, former president of the UCI, it comprises a number of 'ProTour' cycling teams, each of whom are required to compete in every round of the series. It was initially the basis of a season long competition for rankings points, created for 2005 UCI ProTour, 2005 to replace the UCI Road World Cup series, which ended at the end of the 2004 season (although the World Cup did not include any stage races).
