2014 Saginaw Sting Season
The 2014 Saginaw Sting season was the sixth season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. In June 2013, the Sting agreed to terms with the CIFL to return for the 2014 season. The Sting won their first eighth game of the season to advance to 8-0, but during that game the Sting lost quarterback A. J. McKenna to injury. The following week the team lost 2013 league MVP, C. J. Tarver to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The loss of those two key players became noticeable when the Sting lost their final regular season game to finish 9-1. Just one day before the Sting's first playoff game, head coach Fred Townsead announced his resignation. Line Coach James Perry II was named the teams interim head coach. Stuart Schweigert
Stuart Eric Schweigert (born June 21, 1981) is a former American football safety. He played college football at Purdue and played in the National Football League (NFL) for five seasons, from 2004 to 2008. He was drafted in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. Early years Schweigert played quarterback and safety for Saginaw Heritage High School in Saginaw, Michigan. As a senior, he was ranked as the No. 9 defensive back and No. 78 player overall in the nation by Prep Football Report. Freedom Hall
Freedom Hall is a multi-purpose arena in Louisville, Kentucky, on the grounds of the Kentucky Exposition Center, which is owned by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It is best known for its use as a basketball arena, previously serving as the home of the University of Louisville Cardinals and, since November 2020, as the home of the Bellarmine University Knights. 2014 Kentucky Xtreme Season
The Louisville Xtreme are an indoor football team based in Louisville, Kentucky, with home games at the KFC Yum! Center. They began play as the Kentucky Xtreme in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) in 2013 and 2014. Midway through the 2014 CIFL season, the league removed the team's membership and the Xtreme temporarily suspended operations. After playing the 2015 season in the semi-professional Minor League Football Alliance (MLFA), the team rebranded as the Louisville Xtreme in 2017. In 2020, the Xtreme were added to the American Arena League (AAL) but cancelled its season citing the COVID-19 pandemic. For the 2021 season, the Xtreme were announced to be joining the National Arena League, but instead joined the Indoor Football League three months later. 2014 Marion Blue Racers Season
The 2014 Marion Blue Racers season was the fourth season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. In May 2013, the Blue Racers announced that they were leaving the CIFL again, this time to join the Xtreme Indoor Football League. The league was supposed to be run by Blue Racers owner LaMonte Coleman. However, in August 2013, the Blue Racers re-signed with the CIFL to a multi-year contract. Coleman has hired Marc Huddleston as the 2014 Head Coach and Director of Football Operations. After a 5–1 start, the Blue Racers announced that Coleman would be taking over as the team's head coach. Kentucky Horse Park
Kentucky Horse Park is a working horse farm, international equestrian competition venue, and an educational theme park opened in 1978 in Lexington, Kentucky. It is located off Kentucky State Highway 1973 (Iron Works Pike) and Interstate 75, at Exit 120, in northern Fayette County in the United States. The equestrian facility is a park dedicated to "man's relationship with the horse." McMorran Arena is an entertainment complex in Port Huron, Michigan consisting of a 4,800-seat multi-purpose arena and a theater. It was designed by Alden B. 2014 Detroit Thunder Season
The 2014 Detroit Thunder season is the second season for the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) franchise. In June 2013, the Thunder agreed to terms with the CIFL to return for the 2014 season. The team was originally supposed to play the season at Fraser Hockeyland but was unable to secure turf for the arena, forcing the team to move to the Perani Arena and Event Center in Flint, Michigan for the only home game the Thunder would play that season. The team attempted to return to Fraser Hockeyland for the rest of the season but ceased operations after being forced to forfeit a game against the eventual champion Erie Explosion because of continuing turf problems at the arena. The Dow Event Center (formerly known as Saginaw County Event Center and Saginaw Civic Center) is an indoor arena located in Saginaw, Michigan.
