2014 Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 2014 Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship was the inaugural staging of the Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Limerick County Board. The championship began on 18 April 2014 and ended on 25 October 2014. On 25 October 2014, Bruff won the championship after a 2-14 to 0-16 defeat of Croom in the final at FitzGerald Park, Kilmallock. It was their first ever championship title in this grade. Gary Kirby
Gary Kirby (born 12 January 1967 in Patrickswell, County Limerick, Ireland) is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He was named in a list of the "125 greatest stars of the GAA" in 2009, in which he was described as "one of the best players never to win an All-Ireland senior medal". As a centre-forward, his playing career at club level was with Patrickswell and at inter-county level with Limerick. He was a key member of the latter team during the resurgence of the 1990s and collected two Munster titles, two National Hurling League titles and four All-Star awards. In retirement from playing Kirby has become involved in team management at all levels. He was a selector with the Limerick senior hurling team under Richie Bennis from 2006 until 2008, a period which saw Limerick qualify for the All-Ireland final in 2007. Croom GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Croom, County Limerick, Ireland. The club was founded in 1884 and fields teams in both hurling and Gaelic football. Location The club is situated in the parish of Croom in central County Limerick in the south division on the banks of the Maigue. Mike Galligan
Michael Galligan (born 17 January 1968) is an Irish hurler who played for club side Claughaun and at inter-county level with the Limerick senior hurling team. Career Galligan first played competitive hurling at primary school in Caherdavin before lining out for CBS Sexton Street team in the Dr. Harty Cup. His early club career with CLaughaun yielded county championship titles in every juvenile and underage grade before winning his only County Championship title at senior level in 1986. Galligan's first inter-county experience came during a two-year spell with the Limerick minor team, which was followed by two seasons with the under-21 team. He made his senior debut against Kilkenny during the 1989–90 league. Galligan was a stalwart of the team for much of the following decade and was included on the Limerick teams that lost the All-Ireland finals in 1994 and 1996. The Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Lyons of Limerick County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Limerick PIHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Limerick County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking intermediate clubs in the county of Limerick in Ireland. It is the second tier overall in the entire Limerick hurling championship system. The Limerick Premier Intermediate Championship was introduced in 2014 following a split in the existing Limerick Intermediate Hurling Championship. It was the fourth adult county championship to come into existence in Limerick.
