2014 IAAF World Relays
The 2014 IAAF World Relays were held in May 2014 in Nassau, Bahamas, Nassau, the Bahamas, Bahamas. The event was the first edition of the IAAF World Relays. There were five events for each gender. In men's and women's 4 × 100 metres and 4 × 400 metres, the event served as a qualification event for the 2015 World Championships in Athletics. Schedule Results Men Women Medal table Team standings Teams scored for every place in the top 8 with 8 points awarded for the first place, 7 for second, etc. The United States team won the overall classification and was awarded the Golden Baton. No individual medals were awarded although presentations of the first three teams in each event did take place. Harry Leslie Aikines-Aryeetey (born 29 August 1988) is an English former Commonwealth sprinter and television personality, known for appearing as "Nitro" in the BBC sports endurance competition series '' Gladiators''. He has also taken part in BBC Radio 5's sports quiz '' Fighting Talk''. In 2005, he was named as the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year and the IAAF's Rising Star of the Year after becoming the first athlete to win gold medals at both 100 metres and 200 metres at the World Youth Championships. David Verburg
David Verburg (born May 14, 1991) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the 400 meters. He holds gold medals in the 4 × 400 m relay from the 2016 Olympics; the 2013 and 2015 World Championships; and the 2014 Indoor World Championships. Ken Romain
Ken Romain (born 17 April 1993) is a French track and field sprinter who competes in the 100 metres and 200 metres. He holds personal bests of 10.29 and 20.94 seconds for those events. He was the 100 m gold medallist at the 2014 Mediterranean Athletics U23 Championships. He has competed internationally with the French men's relay teams on several occasions. Yannick Fonsat
Yannick Fonsat (born 16 June 1988 in Paris, France) is a French sprinter who specialises in the 400 meters. He was the 2007 European Junior Champion at 400 metres. As French junior champion, he had run at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Athletics, but didn't make the finals. During the 2007 Indoor season, he set the French Junior record and ran with the senior 4x400 metres team at the 2007 European Athletics Indoor Championships. He was selected for the 2009 World Championships in Athletics – Men's 400 metres, but was unable to run after the bag containing his spikes were stolen. Finding a replacement a few days later, he ran on the French relay team where he came out of his exchange in dead last place, his final kick passed three other teams and brought France into close contention, though they finished in seventh place. Christophe Lemaitre
Christophe Lemaitre (; born 11 June 1990) is a former French people, French Sprint (running), sprinter who specialised in the 100 metres, 100 and 200 metres. In 2010, Lemaitre became the first white athlete to break the 10-second barrier in an officially timed 100 m event. Lemaitre has run a sub-10 second 100 m on seven occasions: three times in 2010 and four times in 2011. Antoine Adams (born 31 August 1988) is a retired Olympic sprinter who specialized in the 200 metres.
