2014 IAAF Diamond League
The 2014 IAAF Diamond League was the fifth edition of the annual Diamond League. It consisted of fourteen one-day track and field meetings, starting on May 9, 2014, in Doha, Qatar and ending on September 5, 2014, in Brussels, Belgium. Other events were held in Shanghai, Eugene, Oregon, Eugene, Oslo, Rome, New York City, Lausanne, Paris, Fontvieille, Monaco, Fontvieille, Stockholm, Birmingham and Zürich. Glasgow, Great Britain hosted the event for the first time on July 11 & 12, 2014 at Hampden Park. The 2013 IAAF Diamond League was the fourth edition of the Diamond League, an annual series of fourteen one-day track and field meetings. The series began on 10 May in Doha, Qatar and ended on 6 September in Brussels, Belgium. Calendar Winners Events not included in the Diamond League are marked in grey background in the below tables. Men Track * In Doha, the 3000m was counted to the Diamond League standings for the 5000m. * In London, the Mile run was counted to the Diamond League standings for the 1500m. LaShawn Merritt
LaShawn Merritt (born June 27, 1986) is a retired American track and field athlete who competed in sprinting events, specializing in the 400 metres. He is a former Summer Olympics, Olympic champion over the distance and his personal best of 43.65 seconds makes him the eleventh fastest of all time. Merritt was a successful junior athlete and won the 400 m gold at the 2004 World Junior Championships in Athletics, as well as setting two List of junior world records in athletics, world junior records in the relays. Jairus Kipchoge Birech
Jairus Kipchoge Birech (born 14 December 1992) is a Kenyan steeplechase (athletics), steeplechase runner. He holds a personal best time of 7:58.41 minutes for the 3000 metres steeplechase, which ranks him among the top ten of all time. He was the gold medallist at the 2014 African Championships in Athletics and silver medallist at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. He was a silver medallist at the African Junior Athletics Championships in 2011 and went on to place fourth at the 2011 All-Africa Games. Michael Tinsley (born April 21, 1984) is an American track and field athlete specializing in the 400 metres hurdles. Early life Tinsley, a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, was born on April 21, 1984. Pascal Martinot-Lagarde
Pascal Martinot-Lagarde (born 22 September 1991) is a French athlete who specialises in the sprint hurdles. Born to a French father and a mother from the Ivory Coast, he has written his name in his country's record books. He is a three-time medalist in the 60 metres hurdles at the IAAF World Indoor Championships and also won the bronze medal in the 110 metres at the 2014 European Championships and the gold medal at the 2018 European Championships in the same event. Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku (born 9 October 1992 in Machakos) is a Kenyan middle- and long-distance runner. Alonso Reno Edward Henry (born 8 December 1989), commonly known as Alonso Edward, is a Panamanian sprinter who specialises in the 100 and 200 metres. He set a South American junior record in the 100 m in 2007. Edward competed in his first World Junior Championships in 2008, finishing in sixth place.
