2014 Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup
The 2014 Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup was the ninth Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup season, an open-wheel motor racing series for emerging young racing drivers based in Europe. It was contested over 7 race meetings and a total of 15 races – 17 scheduled races, with 2 cancelled due to weather conditions – commencing on 12 April at Monza and concluding on 20 September at the Nürburgring. The championship title was won by British driver Ben Barnicoat, a member of McLaren's young driver programme, after recording top-ten finishes in all but two of the season's races. Barnicoat, who won races at Hockenheim and Most, finished 16 points clear of his closest rival, Louis Delétraz, who was the winner of the opening race of the season, at Monza. Ben Barnicoat
Ben George Barnicoat (born 20 December 1996) is a British racing driver, who competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship for Vasser Sullivan and in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Akkodis ASP; he serves as a factory driver for Lexus. In sportscar racing, Barnicoat won the 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship in the GTD Pro class with Vasser Sullivan. Born and raised in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, Barnicoat began competitive kart racing aged nine. Andrea Luigi René Pizzitola (born 19 June 1992) is a professional French racing driver. He is best known for winning the 2018 European Le Mans Series with G-Drive Racing. Career Karting Born in Montpellier, Pizzitola entered karting in 2008, racing in local championships. His best achievement was eighth place in the French KF2 Championship in 2011. Raoul Owens (born 22 August 1994) is a London-based, British racing driver. He will compete in the VLN Endurance Championship based at the Nürburgring with Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW. Career Early years It was in the UK at the age of 8 that Raoul Owens began competing in karting. James Allen (born 4 July 1996) is a professional racing driver from Australia. He currently competes in the European Le Mans Series. Career European Le Mans Series Allen first contested the European Le Mans Series in 2017 with Graff Racing's LMP2 entry. Allen, along with co-drivers Richard Bradley, Franck Matelli and Gustavo Yacamán drove the #40 Oreca 07 to a 3rd-place finish in the championship. Callan O'Keeffe (born 9 June 1996) is a South African former racing driver, driver coach and founder of the School Of Send. Robert Siska (born December 1, 1942) is an American former tennis player and motorsport driver. A left-handed player from San Francisco, Siska made the singles third round of the 1959 U.S. National Championships as a teenager and competed on the international tour through the 1960s. He featured in the Wimbledon singles main draw four times and won his first round match in 1963, over Ion Țiriac.
