2014 Florida State Seminoles Football Team
The 2014 Florida State Seminoles football team, variously Florida State or FSU, represented Florida State University in the sport of American football during the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season, 2014 NCAA Division I FBS college football season. Florida State competed in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Seminoles were led by fifth-year head coach Jimbo Fisher and played their home games at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. They were members of the Atlantic Coast Conference, playing in the Atlantic Division. It was the Seminoles' 23rd season as a member of the ACC and its 10th in the ACC Atlantic Division. Jimbo Fisher
John James "Jimbo" Fisher Jr. (born October 9, 1965) is an American college football coach. He most recently served as the head football coach at Texas A&M Aggies, Texas A&M from 2018 until 2023. Prior to that, he led Florida State Seminoles, Florida State to a 2014 BCS National Championship Game, BCS National Championship victory in 2014. Doak S. Campbell Stadium (in full Bobby Bowden Field at Doak S. Campbell Stadium), popularly known as "Doak", is a football stadium on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. It is the home field of the Florida State Seminoles football team of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Opened in 1950, it was originally named Doak Campbell Stadium in honor of Doak S. Campbell, the university's first president. On November 20, 2004, the Florida Legislature added longtime head football coach Bobby Bowden to the stadium name to become Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium. Demarcus Christmas (born July 4, 1995) is an American professional football defensive end for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Florida State. He has also been a member of the Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Edmonton Elks. Bryant Jacob "Jake" Coker (born August 4, 1992) is an American former football player who was a quarterback. He played college football for the Florida State Seminoles and Alabama Crimson Tide. He won the national championship as the starting quarterback of the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2015. Early years Coker attended St. Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile, Alabama. Devonta Cornellius Freeman ( ; born March 15, 1992) is an American former professional football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Florida State Seminoles and was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft. Early life Freeman attended Miami Central High School in West Little River, Florida. Kelvin Benjamin (born February 5, 1991) is an American former professional American football, football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Florida State Seminoles football, Florida State Seminoles and was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft. He also played for the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. After totaling over 1,000 receiving yards in his rookie season, Benjamin missed his sophomore year with a torn ACL. He returned in 2016 and had 941 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Midway through 2017, Benjamin was traded to the Bills and appeared in six games with the team.
