2014 Circuit Of Ireland
The 2014 Circuit of Ireland was the fourth round of the 2014 European Rally Championship season, held in Ulster between 17 and 19 April 2014. The Circuit returned to the European Rally Championship over the Easter weekend, starting in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Circuit of Ireland consisted of 18 special stages covering a total of over the weekend. Finnish driver Esapekka Lappi dominated the International section, towards the European Rally Championship, finishing almost two minutes ahead of second place Sepp Wiegand from Germany, who completed a Škoda 1–2. Irishman Robert Barrable finished third in his Ford Fiesta R5. Declan Boyle won the Circuit of Ireland National Rally in his Subaru Impreza S12B WRC, while teenage British driver Chris Ingram held the lead of the ERC Junior Championship event, but crashed out, handing the win to Czech driver Jan Černý. 2014 European Rally Championship Season
The 2014 European Rally Championship season was the 62nd season of the FIA European Rally Championship, the European continental championship series in rallying. The season was also the second following the merger between the European Rally Championship and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. The season started in Austria on January 3, with the Internationale Jänner Rallye and finished in November 8 in Tour de Corse. Esapekka Lappi ( Škoda Fabia S2000) was the 2014 European Champion. In addition to the championship title, the series introduced three additional trophies, with one for each surface type. The "Ice Master" trophy was awarded to the driver who scores the most points on snow events, while the "Gravel Master" trophy was presented to the driver who scores the most points on gravel rallies, and the driver who scores the most points on tarmac events won the "Asphalt Master" trophy. Kevin Abbring
Kevin Abbring (born 20 January 1989) is a Dutch rally racing driver. His father, Edwin Abbring, is also a well-known former rally driver. Career Abbring started his motorsport career in Rallycross with a 60 bhp strong buggy for newcomers, winning the 2005 and 2006 titles of the Dutch Ford RST series. In 2007 he competed in the Dutch Rally Championship with a Mitsubishi Colt. He also made his World Rally Championship debut in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX. In 2008 he began competing in the Junior World Rally Championship in a Renault Clio R3, with backing from KNAF Talent First. He took his first JWRC win on the 2009 Rally Poland, on his way to fourth in the final standings for 2009. In 2010 he won the JWRC in Portugal. Sebastian Marshall
Sebastian Marshall (born 29 May 1988) is a British rally co-driver. Rally career Sebastian Marshall began his rally career in 2005, co-driving for several drivers. In the 2008 Rallye Deutschland, he made his WRC debut, where he partnered Richard Moore in a Ford Fiesta ST. In January 2015, it was announced he would be co-driving for Kevin Abbring for Hyundai Motorsport in the World Rally Championship. While their main focus would be the development of the new Hyundai i20 WRC, Abbring and Marshall were also entered on selected WRC events later in the year. In the 2017 Rally de Portugal, he replaced Hayden Paddon's then veteran co-driver John Kennard, who was retired from professional career in the previous round. Chris Ingram (Rally Driver)
Chris Ingram (born 7 July 1994 in Manchester) is a British rally driver. In 2019, Ingram became the first British driver to win the European Rally Championship (2019) in 52 years since Vic Elford. He won the 2012 Motor Sports Association Young Driver of the Year Award. He is a three time winner of the European Rally Championship Colin McRae Flat Out Award on the Circuit of Ireland Rally 2014, Rallye Açores 2015, and Rally Liepaja in 2017, and also won the Richard Burns Trophy on Wales Rally GB in 2017 for winning the Two-Wheel drive class.
